I picked up a Mario Kart bundle at Amazon and was just wondering what are some other games I should put on my list of games and the cheapest to get them

my list so far includes:

New SMB
Kirby's Canvas Curse
Metroid Pinball
Metroid Hunters

puzzle games, meteos is a lot of fun and trauma center is a fun game, even if it's really hard for its own good.

It's very simple. Look at the following link, and buy all the games rated 80 and up, and most of the ones between 70 and 80. That's a good 30 or so games to get you started :D.

http://www.metacritic.com/games/ds/scores/

Edit - Holy crap, I just realized I have 25 of the top 47 games on that list (top 47 are all the ones rated 70 or higher). And considering that 3 of those are the same game (3 versions of Nintendogs) and 2 are imports, I really have 25 of the top 43. (And I have a pretty good average score as I have 30 games total out of the 102 listed, with 25 of those scoring 70 or better). Excluding the imports (and thus bumping Mario 64 and Tetris into the top 10), I have all of the Top 10 except Castlevania. My lowest scoring games are Atari Retro and Sprung, which I got for $6 and $5 respectively. They sit on my shelf unopened :D.

My favorite so far would probably be Advance Wars Dual Strike - not sure if anyone mentioned that specifically yet. NSMB isn't on there yet, but it sure to be top 5, if not at the very top. Its average right now, with 3 reviews, is 92. I think once one more review gets added they will give it an official average ranking.

which alternative is better? i am a new ds owner and got the nintendo dogs bundle a couple days ago. should i sped the extra money i have tp uprade to the ds lite or buy 3 or 4 ds games and hold off on the lite?

since i don't have a DS Lite, i'm gonna have to go with your second option and pick up some games for your regular DS.

there are many great games for the DS and since you already have a DS, might as well pick them up rather than waste some money to get a DS Lite.

Plus the only color of DS Lite coming out is iPod white. I'd rather wait for a blue myself. Worst case you can sell your DS for $50 on ebay once the Lite's have been out for a while. You (rly723) spent $100 to get the current DS + Nintendogs (which can be sold for $40 or so). Just keep the one you have, get some other games, play them, and enjoy. This Christmas get a Lite bundled with Phantom Hourglass (I'm hoping to, anyway :D). (Note - complete, utter, foundless speculation on my part - but I'd assume there will be some sort of bundle as they had 2 last year).

yeah i seen some videos of the import ds lite and i really like the navy blue. i wonder how long it will take them to release the different colored ds lites after launch. but the cheapest i ee so far for the white ds lite was $117 from overstock

so does everyone expect the lite to just replace the current prices of the DS and DS bundles which are $130 and $150 everywhere else except TRU/amazon?

thats a fair assumption since the lite is set at $129.99

Brain age! For $15 at BB with the GGC, you can't pass it up.

Also some others that I don't think have been mentioned:

Tony Hawk
Nintendogs

I own Advance Wars, Age of Empires, Animal Crossing, Brain Age, Castlevania, Kirby, Mario 64, Mario & Luigi, Mariokart, Meteos, New Super Mario Bros., Phoenix Wright, Sonic Ruish, Tetris DS, Viewtiful Joe, and Yoshi Touch n Go.

I only regret getting Viewtiful Joe (which plays badly) and Yoshi Touch n Go (which I wore out of quickly). Age of Empires is nice and complex, but isn't as enjoyable as Advance Wars on a presentation level. Phoenix Wright is fun and funny, but seems to only hold up to one playthrough; unless you're the type that likes to read books over and over. I'm not sure what I'd pick between Tetris and Meteos, but currently I've played Tetris more often because the Yoshi's Cookie mode is a great brain teaser. Sonic has been fun for the most part, but I'm currently stuck on a tough level. Brain Age and Animal Crossing are great, but they're definitely acquired tastes. Mariokart is great if you love Mariokart or non-simulation racing games. I haven't played the New Mario Bros. enough in order to form a complete opinion on it, but I've loved it so far. Kirby has been great fun, but it's a little tough here and there. Mario 64 is great if you haven't played the original on N64. Mario & Luigi was short and sweet, so it might be more of a week long rental or a "buy and immediately sell".

My highest recommendations are Castlevania and Advance Wars, both of which I've put over 40 hours into, and I plan on putting in much more. Neither have gotten boring yet.

If you haven't considered Ouendan! (or it's soon-to-be American brother) I would highly recommend that. I also enjoyed Battles of Prince of Persia and The Urbz (although that may just be because I'm a huge Sims fan :p)

I've put over 100 hours in AW. And I had never played the GBA ones. I still have 100 or so medals to get, and I need to complete the campaign in hard mode (trying to get a rank S as well).

everyone has been suggesting AW.. but i don't know.. i'm not really into strategy (although i did play AoE on the PC and mildly enjoyed it) so i don't know yet.. i wished there were more RPGs.. but the GBA still has some i haven't picked up yet..
