CAGiversary!
I won the "Touching Is Good" contest several weeks ago. I assumed my DS would arrive sometime this week. I got an email this morning. It'll be shipped next week... :bomb: I had several games sitting on my desk and no way to play them...

Anyway, I had to make a return at Target, so I thought I'd stop by Electronics and see if they had any, and just ebay the other one when it finally arrives. Not only did they have some, the free Mario 64 DS deal was still on. I thought it had expired, but I wasn't about to complain. So the girl gets on the radio looking for the discount barcode. It takes about 3 minutes, and she apologizes the whole time.

She starts scanning items, gets the pre-tax total to 179.98. She scans the barcode, but it doesn't work correctly. She tries again, and I wasn't paying particular attention... The total pops up: $129.30!!!! That's a pre-tax total of $120!!! Based on my receipt, she scanned the DS and the coupon only, and the discount got applied to the DS. What a score! I had to hold my breath not to laugh. How could she not realize after she rang it up the first time? I guess it must've been a long day.

I'm now going to return the pre-owned copy of Mario I bought from EB and sell the DS that I won when it arrives.

I'll post another thread if I decide to sell it online. I think it might be time to get started with ebay and PayPal. I'll probably give some sort of a free shipping deal or something to CAGs, because I imagine 0 feedback on ebay would be something of a burden. Hopefully I've established at least a little bit here.

That's my story. I still can't believe getting such an unexpected deal. The best ones real do just seem to fall into my lap. Keep your eyes peeled in the next few weeks if you've been looking to save a few bucks on a sealed DS...

my only question of course is... if u had a free one coming, y did u buy a ds?? couldnt u have just bought games?

maybe im missing what the touching is good contest was about...

dont get me wrong tho, nice find

Nice score... I guess the clerk didn't notice because it was still in the neighborhood of the right price range ($100 something).... if the total ended up being around like $50, then she would have definitely caught it.

Instead of selling your DS for money, why don't you give someone you care about (friend, girl, family member) the DS as a gift? I'm sure they'll be eternally grateful and you'll have another person to play Nintendogs/Bomberman with... I think that would be worth more then any monetary reward you'll get on ebay.

Maybe you're right... I'll definitely weasel a little money out of my friends, but with multiplayer DL on lots of titles, it might be good to give it to them cheap.

cheap? Come on, at least make sure you cover the cost of your system.

Yes why would you buy one if you had a free one coming. Nice mistake though. Beats my deal, Go to K-mart and see Prince of Perisa 2 sitting on the 14.99 rack I grab it and go to be rung out and it rings 49.99. I was pissed so I did not buy it. Employee was "sorry" but the CC sale coming I should be okay. Hopefully
