I've seen a few threads around, some saying it's possible, other saying it isn't. Anyone actually able to use one on a Mac? (Macbook specifically)
You'll need to install a driver and use it with the USB cable, bluetooth won't work. Here's a driver, but I haven't tried it.

You don't need anything to sync a DS3 to a Mac. (At least with Snow Leopard. Don't know about Leopard or before.) My DS3 and Sixaxis controllers sync right to my Macbook, over Bluetooth, no software required.
DarkNessBear, check this site http://www.motioninjoy.com/
I've heard the solutions there work pretty well, but I haven't tried myself.
Yea doesn't work for me... I've tried a while ago and tried again. It just doesnt detect and is stuck turning on my PS3. So annoying, I've tried everything.

Have you tried to pair it with the power switch on the console turned off? Pair it with your Mac, that is.
