Does anybody have these yet that owned the X4, or has anyone seen a good comparison review any where? I really like the X4 I have but every once in a while the sound quality kind of sucks for certain sound effects and stuff, and I was wondering if the X41 that just came out is much of an improvement. I know it has 7.1 instead of 5.1 surround, but hardly any games use 7.1.

I have both the X4's and now the X41's. The greatest difference is that now you dont have to be in a direct line of the receiver. It used to be when I would walk 10 feet to the left or right of the receiver it would static up and eventually just cut off, now i'm able to walk all around the house and even upstairs and still get crisp, clean audio (no more hiss!).

Another thing i've noticed is that the sound with the X4's sounded more like it was right in your ear, but the 41's have a bit of a "distance", so that it sounds more like everything is around you rather than being right up in your ear.

My only real complaint is that they made the earcups even smaller, but still big enough to envelop my ears and crush them so that they are pretty painful after more than an hour of use. Also, for some reason when I was playing my DS while using the headphones, the audio would keep popping and cracking up. I've had no problems with this issue when I wasn't playing the DS. No clue why its effecting it.

I recommend them though. They were $171 at Amazon after the eca code. I figure if I can sell the X4's for $100, a $70 upgrade to 7.1 isnt that bad of a deal.

Yeah for some odd reason the comfort factor isn't a problem for me, I guess I've spent so much time with them on that my ears have adjusted. Anyway my biggest issue is with the occasional audio problems with the X4, which is pretty rare, but it sounds like there isn't enough definition or something...hardly ever happens.

My friend has the X4's theyre nice... he let me borrow his x3's.. i have the static problem if my headphones arent lined up with receiver which sucks... i was wondering do the x4i's still need batteries to run? i swear headphones running on batteries totally suck.

What else would they run on? Magic gerbil food? Of course they use batteries.

Also, I must be the only one, but I can walk around and even be behind the receiver with my X4's and have perfect sound. The only time I actually lose the signal is when I duck down behind something or leave the room. Otherwise I can go pretty much anywhere in the room and have it still work just fine.
