hi everyone,

just wanted feedback on why people bid on gift cards at close to, or above, the value of the card. i've noticed several Wal*Mart gift cards on eBay with a value of say, $20.00, but then winning bidder decides to buy it for $19.50???:whistle2:k

i don't get it... anyone have any input on this???

Well, there's two things I see there. The first being that the user just signed up with eBay yesterday. It's possible that the high bidder is a friend of the seller's/the seller who didn't want their product to sell at a lower price. The second would be that with shipping, the card comes out to $20 even right now, so depending on how Wal-Mart deals with tax on their gift cards, the buyer still might be saving a dollar or so when it's all said and done.

a savings of $2.00??? i don't get it...

Sure, why not? If you're definitely going to spend the money at the store, it'll save you a couple bucks and add on to your eBay feedback.

Surely you can appreciate people trying to save an extra dollar or two, after all, this is CAG. :p
