ebay sealed ps1 games question

i have a question for fellow CAGers out there regarding a purchase I had on ebay. Not sure if I posted in the right section, but here goes:

Recently bought a sealed ps1 game on ebay but when i received it in the mail there was a hairline crack on the case. Seller didn't mention it in the description of the item listing and when i contacted the seller he claimed that there was no crack before shipping and refuses to give me a refund. If I opened a case against the seller would I be able to win and get my money back? Thanks in advance all.
 
Yeah, you're pretty much guaranteed to win, but if the seller ends up refusing to refund you, you'll likely have to pay the return shipping costs out of your own pocket.

This is exactly why I won't sell on eBay, since it's a buyers market and the sellers are automatically guilty without any recourse available to them to argue their case.:roll:
 
Very true, I get hit on ebay by buyers in the anonymous rankings. A buyer left me good feedback and we pleasantly communicated back and forth. They then gave me all 1s and I called ebay and they said they cant do anything and its anonymous so its on me.

I'm not saying OP isn't wrong, I'm just saying sellers have no recourse on ebay. I've had buyers take advantage of it too (saying they didn't get an item that they received).
 
This is the part that pisses me off about people crying for the sellers though. People ship things on ebay like absolute SHIT!! If he didn't protect it well enough (like just a padded envelope) then it's the seller's fault, and too bad!

but sometimes shit happens; i just recently sent out a game, and padded it with bubble wrap and it ended up arriving damaged because of post office shenanigans although if it is one of those high profile games that are worth like hundreds of dollars mostly because of their condition than i probably would have placed it in a post with those big bubble things i keep from amazon
