Seems a bit silly since the 360 is supposedly going to be scarce at launch.
 
Why would anyone trade against a 360 preorder for 20%, when they could get 30% put on their EB card. Those must stack else they would make no sense at all.
 
Trade-Ins suck dick. Sell on E-Bay or to people. However, I thank the OP for taking the time to post.

Well, if you were trading in less than 3 games or if you were trading in a bunch of DVD movies then the 30% deal wouldn't apply.
 
The last time they ran this extra 30% crap with DVDs, it ended up being an extra 10% on each DVD, not 30% on the entire trade-in-value. I agree. THEY SUCK!!

$70. This deal is pretty much garbage, as the only real credit was if you had some new games you want to get rid of. I'd love to see a return of the $10 per game deal but I guess its just a pipe dream. Here's hoping for a christmas miracle.

Is this the same case this time around? If so this sucks, however I have a few games I do need to get off my hands. I just hope it is 30% overall.
 
I'd like to get in on this for the extra 30%, but i think ebgames' trade in values are so crappy that i think i'd get more at my work anyway.

I wanted to trade
Killer 7, Stubbs the Zombie, Splinter Cell CT Collectors, and MK:Deception collectors to partially pay for COD:BRO and Guitar Hero.. but we'll see.

True. :D However EB trade-in prices are kind of low .. meh prob just trade in at GS since I like their bussiness more.
 
EB's trade in prices are getting merged with GS's. I don't know if it's complete, but the games I checked most recently are the same at both stores. SOCOM 3 is $25, Fire Emblem GC is $22, and DDR Mario is $20.

It would be cool to get 60% extra credit if i traded in say 8 games toward 360. Otherwise, pretty meh
 
Gamestop stores got corporate emails in the end of october to match this trade in offer.. so yes they are matching it.. just tell them to check there emails from the end of october.

U know whats worse than them not having enough systems for the people who have pre orderd?

Them running deals and hosting xbox 360 advertisements still as if there going to have some...selling something they know they wont have for these customers IS STEALING.

I would imagine since they won't have 360s at launch you could probably just cancel it and get store credit if you used any of the 360 trade deals.
 
GS will be running the same 360 trade in deal (20% extra) I doubt that systems are included in either of these, I don't know abbout EB's for sure. But the point isn't to take 360 preorders, it's to help those people who already have it on reserve to pay it off ahead of time with trade ins.

Also, to answer the question, the deals are not stackable. probably not even with a dense employee, I imagine the system will only let you do one, so choose the one that is better for you.
 
Just did the trade 3 or more get 30% extra at my GS and got 70.20 in credit. Still thinking about getting a 360 so this will help me if I decide to. Fortunately, I know a store to pick one up at in town, so if I decide to, I'll have no problem getting it.

Traded in the following...

Makia Kingdom - $20 + 30% = $26.00
Romance of the Three Kingdoms X - $18 + 30% = $23.40
Legend of Zelda: Collector's Disc - $16 + 30% = $20.80
Total = $70.20

I paid $10 for Makia and Romance and $5 for Zelda.
 
Ok, so help me out here since i am a trade-in noob...
if i trade in Fire emblem GC + Primal (yeah yeah one of the TRU green tag) + .. say GT4

So now every game is valued as 130%? Even though they would probably pay 20 cents for Primal, but at least it helped qualifying the 30% deal?

Makes me wonder if i should throw that primal in since it won't worth much.

I brought about 15 titles that were released from last fall to earlier this year. The -only- one that they paid a fair amount for was Star Wars Legos for the PS2 ~ 23 dollars. The other 14 GBA and PS2 games TOTALED about $75. They offer as little as a dollar and change for some of the GBA games. I asked how a used title like Sponge Bob for the GBA can cost $17 used but they only give $1.73 for it in trade... and then I was served a big plate of lip service. I laughed it off and kept my games.
 
I traded in a bunch of stuff today, some of the notables:
PS2: 60
SP: 30
Monster Hunter: 13
Nintendogs: 22.10
Untold Legends: 15.60
Fable: 6.50
Megaman Zero 3 GBA: 9.10
This wasn't towards XBox360 so I don't know about the stacking.

I'm not sure they really knew about it when they allowed those pre-orders. I dropped by my local EB when the manager had just been given the news that the amount of 360's would be cut in half. He was calling all the people that weren't going to get their pre-order... poor guy was getting chewed out like crazy.

but seriously, like the other guy said calm down. Things like this always happen on system launches... just part of the "fun" of trying to get your system on day one. EB isn't doing this to "steal" from you.

Oh.. :cry: When I 1st read that, it sounded like you get 30% off the 360 itself.
Not an extra %30 credit on the games you're trading in.
