EbGames Trade-in Deals, still going strong.

Traded in quite a lot of equipment an hour ago and EBGames is still offering some pretty solid trade-in values on Systems:

PS2 Slim :: $75
XBox :: $70

Memory Card :: $5
PS2 Network Adapter :: $5
XBox Controller :: $5

Halo 2 :: $12.50

Games with Horrible Trade-in Values:
Mech Assault $1.25
Project Gotham Racing 2 $2.50
Crimson Sky $1.00

I thought there was some sort of trade-in special with games, but I guess not. Only real decent offering is for the Systems. 70%+ of value for a used system isnt bad at all.
 
I'm crying inside b/c I needed a Halo 2 and extra contoler and would have definitely paid more than $17.50 for them

There was a $5.00 extra credit per game deal, but it ended about a week ago. I work with a guy who traded in all his Xbox stuff to reserve a 360, and got $900 in credit, $500 of which was bonus credit (he would have only received $400 if the deal wasn't going on).

Wait a minute, you didn't actually trade those games in, did you?

NO ONE should EVER take less than $2 for a game. Before I would do that, I would put them on a bench in the mall and watch from a distance the joy on someone's face as they scored a free game . . . your karma would increase a notch :)

You could've put three of those games (I'm guessing that all but Mech Assault are PO) on Gran Turismo 4 at the end of the week and later returned it for at least $35 in store credit.

$25 seems pretty generous at this point.
 
Sometimes you have to actually experience getting raped by a retail store to learn your lesson about not trading there without a special promotion in effect. It only takes a time or two of getting next to nothing in trade for multiple games before you realize trading in games at a retail store is usually not worth the convenience.
 
speaking of solid/not-so-solid trade in deals, much to my suprise, eb is still doing the "trade in 5, get legend of zelda: twilight princess for free" deal despite it being delayed until next year. so i traded in:

tony hawk 4 (gcn)
shenmue 2 (xbox)
ninja gaiden (xbox) ---> i own ninja gaiden black now
fable (xbox) ---> i may/may not buy lost chapters at a later time
halo 2 map pack (xbox) ---> the maps are now free, whats the point?

needless to say, i was pretty psyched to unload all this fodder for a paid-in-full loz. saaaahweeeeeeet!!!

you'd probably get at least $50 for all that stuff anyway on ebay. maybe $60 or $70.

I would assume he means the value of a used XBOX/PS2 is about 100 dollars. So by getting 70 and 75 dollars for them, it would be about 70% of their value.

where do you live? lala-land? you must because there's no way in hell i'd get that much; those are a bunch of cheap titles. not to mention the fact that i'd have to spend all the time listing, shipping, collecting, etc. if i listed them on ebay. and for what? even if i would get the same amount of money, whats your point? you think it would be worth wasting a bunch of my time getting cash (paypal) and not a free game that i would wind up buying anyway? oh wait... or were you just talking out of your ass in order to have a false sense of superiority? oh. ok. my bad. carry on, dumbass.
 
Forgot to mention I'm heading back to school tommorow and was in a rush, so yah got nailed on the games, but system trade-ins werent too bad. Slim PS2 bites big time because bought it just for GTA:SA and got quite a bit of playing time in on it, but not enough to warrant a $100 crunch.

X-Box was bought way post launch for $200 I think and got a LOT of usage, so no qualms over that.
