Ending Credits

So this week I've had a good amount of spare time and was able to beat Gears of War 3 and Dead Island. I'm not sure if it's just me but when I beat a game I wait till the credits finish rolling in hopes of an awesome cutscene or something. However I've noticed that not that many new games have anything note worthy. I mean maybe it's just a weird quirk I have or maybe the Marvel movies have spoiled me, but I think developers should give a little "somethin' somethin'" to their fans that hang tight and watch the credits. I'm not asking for some crazy sequel announcement or anything, just something a little silly. Hell, I even liked the stupid head crab (Lenard I think?) that jumps out of the screen at the end of the Half-Life 2 credits.

What do you guys think? Do my fellow CAG's wait patiently as the credits roll hoping for a little encore?

I sometimes do. Not always. They can drag on and on and on. I think they should all do that as incentives to watch them.

I also thunk that the developers and publishers should be giving us more balanced games, longer games and complete games that don't need to be patched on the first day.

But I'm just a customer. Who am I to desire a quality product? /sarcasm

It'd be nice to have some sort of bonus at the very end, but sometimes, I just like looking at the various thank you messages by the developers.

I might not watch them intently, but I generally keep my headphones on and remain in the room so if something does or is about to happen, I can quickly look at my television.

Sometimes the credits are worth sitting through just for the music.

I really like the credits to Super Smash Bros. Brawl. If I remember right you were like flying around shooting at them or something. Also didn't one of the Rock Bands or Guitar Hero games give you a achievement for watching?

If I like the game, I'll sit through the credits just so I see everybody's name that worked on it, give them their due.

I'll generally watch the credits. I like to see the ratio between programmers and artists/modelers/level designers. A small annoyance is when they list every employee at the publisher, including overseas offices. Seems unfair that the dude who put in 80 hour weeks leading up to the release shares the same amount of credit as some guy cleaning toilets at a subsidiary in Russia.

I always sit through the credits for games. Some pay off and some are just insanely long (looking at you Dragon Age Origins). You never know. Two that stick out are Metal Gear Solid 1, 2 and 3 for their codex chats and, obviously Portal 2 was amazing. I liked what they did with Gears 2 with the shout-outs from the developers and I like how they weaved Prince of Persia (2008) credits into an interactive scenario.
