ESPN NEWS HD Question!

SOLIDSNAKE

CAGiversary!
Hey guys i been reading about the new espn news HD and i been really pumped about it, but i read that not all cable companies are going to be showing it on their network. I have Cablevision service and espn never mentioned that their espn news HD service will be provided on Cablevision. Does anybody know the story is with this? I want ESPN News HD!! -Thanks

Contact your cable provider and tell them you want ESPN News HD. If they get enough crap from enough customers, then they'll add the channel.

You don't know Cablevision.

Insight had ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD on the HD pack (plus 11 more channels, for an extra $15 a month) so I'm guessing they're package it that way in time. I never got it and now that our service changed to Comcast, I don't know if that's changed or not.

DirecTV should have it on Day 1, they advertised it along with their new HD channels late last year. ESPN simply wasn't ready.

I'm very happy with DTV's service as of late--the basic DTV package is all I'd ever want and a lot more, no "third tier" package just to get the NFL Network like Comcast.

Crapavision(Cablevision) is the worst. They could care less about the customers. Charge high prices to pay for all the NY Knicks' troubles.

Well, It's nice to see highlights in HD, and for a channel like this, the more information the better, I say. I think the better question to ask is why not have ESPNEWS in HD?

After watching SportsCenter in HD, ESPNEWS in standard def is pretty awful comparatively. Now NFL Network just needs to put their shows in HD (which they really should have been since the network's creation, like the Big Ten Network) and Sports will be lookin' good.

Of course, I'm spoiled with NESN here in New England, probably the only place in the world that gets all of their NHL games in HD XD

down here in NY, we get all of our NHL games in HD, for both teams, home and away. Pretty nice.

DirecTV is scheduled to start broadcasting the following HD channels starting this Wednesday, April 2:

Disney Channel HD channel 290
ESPNews HD channel 207
Toon Disney HD channel 292

No. The better question is why aren't all stations fully HD? In 2008, HD isn't a luxury, it is something I have come to expect. I rarely watch TV, but when I do, I only watch the HD channels. With good equipment, all other channels are just terrible in comparison.
