Well this isn't news, it's been known for a while. But with this new $20 price tag, I have to think more GameCubers would have picked this title up. I know they originally dropped Nintendo for lack of sales, but it's too the $20 price tag wasn't known then...maybe things would be different.

Even EA's sports titles don't do well on the GameCube. Not a lot of people have one, and the people that do don't want to play sports games on it.

i actually had NHL2k3 for the cube and thought with the cubes controller set up- it was the greatest hockey game ever. i bought all the ESPN titles released for it. i wonder if im the only one???

Hey Eddie, you probably were the only one. It seems like most people have the gamecube and at least one other system and they would usually prefer to play sports games on the other one. For me and my group of gaming friends we prefer sports on Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube in that order.

I don't play sports games, but if I were to I'd choose xbox or ps2 because, if I'm not mistaken, cube versions never had online play.

i bet i was. when i owned the cube i was trying to jump start it and talked smack about the xbox. i have never been a playstation fan in the least. but that controller man- wow- helped me beat gretzky's goal scoring record by four goals with marian gaborik on my way to the stanley cup.

i think the 20 dollar price tag woudl help sales (obviously) but sports games are not the forte of most on thier cube.

I am a sports game cube owner. I think the big problem is the lack of features that the cube got compared to the other systems. ALso that some games did not take advantage of the controllers and the fact that a memory card could not handle some of the games. I dont buy 3nd party cards so I had to wait to the 1019 to come out to play a season in MVP Baseball2004

I could not get comfortable with NCAA Football 2004 using the Cube controller. I'm sure most people prefer the PS2 controller for sports.

I don't like the Cube controller for sports games and the game saves took up too much room. NBA 2K3 for example took up almost a whole Memory Card 59. The only reason I bought NBA 2K3 for the system was because at the time it was $9.99 on Gamecube and $49.99 on PS2 and XBox.

Sports games suck. I wish there were no sports sims on any platform.

June is End Boss Month. Here's hoping Electronic Arts meets up with the ultimate End Boss; Death.

Sounds like you just aren't any good at these games. If you were, you wouldn't say that.

Well, this proves my theory that only complete morons play sports games.

I do not suck at them, I do not like playing them they aren't fun and aren;t real video games

Honestly from the last Sega Sports games I played, they need to do something serious about difficulty. I always play hardest setting on sports games, and eventually they stop being competitive, but Sega's games are too similar from year to year, once you've mastered the hardest setting in NBA 2K for the Dreamcast all the future titles are too easy.

At least EA adds enough play changes that you've got to learn some new skills to win on the higher settings. Look at NBA Live 2003 versus 2004. The control scheme is so entirely different, it feels like an entirely different game. The Sega games just feel like the same damned title with updated rosters and better graphics. +

Nope have all of the ESPN titles for the Cube (Even NCAA Basketball).

I think the problems with the cube controller are way overstated. In fact, I prefer it to the xbox controller because the Z button is easier to reach than the black and white buttons.

So, is there anything you actually like or are your days just filled with things you hate and morons. Every post I see of yours has you calling everyone who likes something you don't a moron and you saying how much you hate something. Need to lighten up a bit. Life aint that bad.

I forgot about this thread. eh, maybe I just ingored it...since nothing intelligent is being said...

I only have a Gamecube, and I think the sports games on it are fine. In fact, I prefer them on the GC compared with my friends' PS2s and XBoxs. This could just be because I am so used to the feel of the Gamecube controller and anything else I don't like because I am not used to it. I loved NHL 2K3 for the cube, and I think it sucks that the EPSN titles aren't for Gamecube.
