Eternal Sonata PS3 $39.98 at Amazon *DEAD*
Wow, thats actually a good deal. I didnt think so at first but then did a search on eBay and some other sites and its still pretty expensive everywhere.
Really? I got mines on ebay for $35 shipped. I guess I was lucky.

Worth a playthrough if you're a jRPG fan. The game is surprisingly hard. I actually had to level grind to beat a few bosses. That should be outlawed in modern RPGs.

Personally I'd wait until the price hits around $30 though.
Still too much. should be the same price as the Xbox360 version.
The 360 version still around $40 in a lot of places. It was clearanced out at a lot of places, but that was quite some time ago. Amazon has it listed at $40, but it's at $25, currently. GameStop has it listed for $40, but not in-stock online. I see a number in stock around me. Probably gutted. Buy also has it listed at $40, but it's OOS. $28 at Newgg and in stock.

Anyway, the PS3 version is not a straight port, so I think $40 is a fair price for it. It has new characters, new dungeons, and new quests, and from what I hear, it doesn't feel tacked on or shoved in. Everything fits nicely. It got pretty much the same reviews as the 360 version. The 360 has a 79 on Metacritic and the PS3 version has an 80.
i got it for $33 dotd last dec.
Same here. My wife loved it, and I already sold it on ebay for about the same amount.

Ditto.

I disagree that it should be the same price as the 360 version, considering it came out more recently and is also a significant upgrade.

That said, this is a fantastic game and worth the price for those on the fence.

Ah, wonderful...another chance for me to pick it up for cheap. I've missed out on the last like 3-4 deals Amazon had for this game.

I hope this price can last another week....

No, it shouldn't. The PS3 version is the better version. $30 is ideal, but $25 (the same price as the 360 version) would just be a bonus and a must buy.

Yeah, well all the BIN prices are $49.99 and above but the average sale price is $48.50 (we are talking brand new here). So, with Amazons FSSS, this is a good deal.

Got it off Amazon for $30 around Christmas, played it for a few hours, then traded it in. Beautiful game with all the typical, annoying shortcoming of the current JRPG genre. Meh.

Same here. The game looks great, and the music is great. But wow, awful story and god-awful dialogue. It makes the Trinity death scene in The Matrix Revolutions look like A Streetcar Named Desire.

Wasn't the PS3 version supposed to be out of print or something? I remember a few people saying so when this game was the Amazon DotD a few months back.

If not, then I could wait for a lower drop.

Glad I ordered one a couple hours ago because now it's back at reg price. Will I still get it for the lower price since I ordered it before it shot back up?
How long does the game take to beat?
It's not overly long, and it's pretty linear - I'd say about 30 hours. Though there's a New Game + feature which can extend the experience.

Man - Sonata is my favorite game so far on the current Gen. I played right through this game without any delay. Just cannot decide whether this is worth getting on the PS3 as well.

I didn't think the story was too bad. It wasn't the greatest, but I enjoyed it. Now some of the dialogue and cut scenes are indeed godawful. But the game is too great to let those scenes drag down your enjoyment.

imo the game isn't that great i started playing it put about five hours into it but just couldn't stick to it i ended up selling it.

Is is really difficult?
I'm no newb but I had to quit Dark Cloud 2 and Rouge Galaxy cause they were brutal for me. Don't wanna do that again.
