European warranty law = beta test for rest of world.

Qslugs

CAGiversary!
I have a question. I've been thinking about how europe always gets stuff at a later date. I believe that Europe gets stuff later because of Eurpoean warranty laws.

This is one of the only links I could quickly find dealing with this issue. If this is the case, than that means that the rest of the world is beta testing for Europe.
Here's another quick link:

I believe it is stating that Europe has a minimum 2 years product warranty on all consumer goods. 2 years is 1 year 9 months longer than what I got with my 360 here in the USA.
I bring this up because of Sonys delay and the problem with Blue Ray.

Anyone care to comment?

Interesting view. I would just add:

Nintendo's warranty = 1 year
Sega's warranty (back when they made consoles) = 6 months
Microsoft's warranty = 3 months
Sony's warranty = 3 months

Makes you think, doesn't it?

Really it's 2 years.. i am sure it's just one year on electrical goods, Very Sure

and if i am wrong and it is 2 years I will be jumping with joy.

Sony's warranty on the current PS2s and PSPs is one year.

Oh, so they raised it after dumping the initial batch with a high defect rate on unsuspecting consumers with only a 3-month warranty? Wow, that just confirms how slimy they are.

PSP warranty has always been a year

I'm not commenting on warranty law since I didn't read your links.

The reason Europe gets stuff late is because of PAL conversion and language translation. Games have to be in English, French, Spanish, German, and I think one more.
