Ok i called up BBO today to see when the so called Store returns will take place. They have no idea but they say it should be by Dec 2005 but that is another story when I was telling them about my shipping time they said the place where my movies are shipping from is now

ST Louis Missouri instead of Lansing michigan where they have been shipping from.

I ask why is this and they said they hold the right to move any customer to another Branch if that Branch isnt meeting its goals or if the closer branch has too many people.

My shipping from Michigan was 2-3 days each way
My shipping from MissourI I was told allow 3 to 4 days each way

I think this is total bull that just cause there are too many people getting their movies from Mich and the Missouri Plant isnt meeting its QUOTE that they have the right to move me to a farer away place and make me wait more days to get my movies and still have to pay the 15 per month.

SO everyone who is getting the BBO movies watch your movie return places this week (Since they just went into effect a lot of the changes last week) And see if the shipping place has been changed as well

I just finished my 2 week trial, and I cancelled due to slow delivery and return times.

I have a 1 day turn around with Netflix compared to 3, or 4 with BBO. Both have distribution centers in my local metro area - Atlanta.

Thats why i cancelled them, tehy iz teh sukzorz!2!

It would take them 3-7 days to get a movie to me, but they'd get it back in 1, ONE, UNO, day.

i find it interesting that they belive they will do *in store returns* I doubt this will ever happen cause it will kill the In store Specials .
Blockbuster has a hard enough time keeping track of their own movies just think how messed up they be if they had to take back BBO movies.

sadly after posting the first post i will probally stick with BBO unless netflix drops their prices down to 12.99 a month cause i can use the BBO instore coupons at other places and get free movies

Netflix has half the turn around time, so you're still getting more for your money.

The extra money is worth it, I can get twice as many movies with Netflix as BBO. Which is worth more to me than coupons for 2 movies or games.

also notice didnt they say the new Shipment places were to be bulit by the end of jan 2005 ? Now they are saying they have no clue when these new sites will go up

They need to get their shit together and do in-store returns. To me that's a big plus they could bring to the table that Netflix just couldn't match. Unless Netflix partnered with UPS store or something, but that would probably be too much money to pull off.

I doubt they will ever do in store returns cause it would be too freaking hard for the people working their to figure out what movie is theirs and what gets return. I mean come on they can barely figure out how to put up the movies they have now. ALso if they would ever do a in store return i expect the price to jump to 20 or higher

our localy BB wont even carry xenosaga 2, Gran 4, The new y game for ps2 and tons of other new games. SO the 2 free game rental coupons really suck

I got mine from Lansing, MI....but I live in MI. I think 3 days is the longest I've ever waiting for a DVD to show up. Remember....the USPS delivers it, not Blockbuster...so stop bitching.

yea but you can bitch about blockbuster when they change your location just cause another one isnt making it goal for customers. I mean i was in Lansing mich and now they move me to St louis cause they dont have enough people there

Netflix and Walmart use the same USPS and they don't take as long to deliver the movies compared to BBO. I think that might send there shipped email before they actually ship out the DVD. I have tried all 3 and they all have distribution centers within 30 minutes of my house. Netflix can turn a disk around in a day or less, WalMart can do it in 1 - 2 days, and BBO took 3-5 which is wrong compared to the other. Also I think BBO doesn't report when they receive the disk until a few days after. Maybe its to try and limit your shipments.

BBO is extremely fast (might be because my shipping center is in the same state as I live). They are much faster than when I tried free trials for Netflix or Walmart. And why would you guys want to do in-store returns, when you can just drop it in your mail-box?
And why would you guys want to do in-store returns, when you can just drop it in your mail-box?
If done right in-store returns should cut your turn around time in about half. The BB store should scan them as they are returned, updating your queue as 'returned' and then BBO should immediately begin to send out the next DVD to you.

The tricky thing is that they need to also allow customers to be able to just mail them back, as that is obviously more convienent, but somewhat slower. So let the customer choose which way they want to go.

Plus slidecage makes a good point that the BB employees may have a hard time keeping the BBO discs seperate from the B&M's discs. But they should be able to come up with a system to solve that problem. I'm thinking they'd give you a seperate envelope to use for the disc if you are dropping at a B&M vs. in the mailbox. It doesn't need postage, but it would need to identify which customer returned what disc.

I'm able to get more from BBO than NF for the same price. I put a disk in my mailbox yesterday, and they're sending out its replacement today. of course it might take a while to get here.
Mine have come, so far, from Tx, PA, OH, MD, DC. I'm in NC.
If BBO were to do instore returns, that would drastically change their entire business.
They would need to either only send out dvd's that a certain store has in stock, to be returned to that store;
or allow return-to-any-store, in effect, in order to optimize the sending.
And unless they drastically improve the B&M's inventories and selection, they will either run the risk of emptying te B&M, or put us back where we are now, dealing with a crappy selection in a B&M.
My turnaround, personally, so far has been virtually as good as NF, and I'm getting more disks at a time for the same money.

All this talk about in store returns, why don't you do the movie pass. 2 out at a time, with the in store return and pick up.

The reason I don't do movie pass or rent from BB B&M anymore is selection and convenience.
Probably 75% of the stuff in my queue, BB doesn't have in a store, and even if they did, with the No Late Fees thing, their inventory levels are sadly lacking.
dwsscs: side off-topic note. Are you currently in F'ville [or Fetville]? I grew up in, and my parents still live in, Peachtree City.

everyone with blobkbuster online should cancel their service, they are slow as fuck and have shady business practices. i would not trust them with my cc number again.

netflix is much better
ship out monday
they get my dvds and ship out my new ones tuesday
new movies in my mailbox wednesday.

everyone I have tried was about the same.

NF, BBO, and gameznflix. all took about 4-5 days to get a movie (gameznflix even took longer to get a game) and about a week for them go to get it back. I live in southwest ohio and there is no Distro around me the closet I think was BBO lansing Distro.

I was gettin mine from Lansing Michigan, and It only took 1-2 days. til my most recent transaction, where they started shipping me movies from TX.. forgot which city... I had movie took a week and a half... I said thats was the last straw...

I called and complain then cancel my membership...

I think BBO is moving there stock from TX to MI.... because it was shipped from TX.. but the return address was to MI. but doing it this is just goin to piss people off... I trying asking the BBO rep about dat, and they just gave me BS saying they can' t keep up with orders there in Lansing. But then I ask why the return to Lansing... and the rep just shutted up...

I think it was also said above that BB gets DVDs back in 1 day...

The reason is that it gets scanned at the Post Office. I think this fact is in there FAQ section. This would also mean that In-Store Return is meaningless and will be implemented just to appease the masses. Really, it's easier to leave the envelope in your mailbox and have it picked up. Long waits are from distribution centers...

i THink texas is just the hometown for the BBO online or something I think the return address is the place that it ships from cause all of my movies say TEXAS on the front but Said Michigin on the back

Mine got moved from Dallas to Tampa, and I have already noticed a slowdown, I seriously might call Netflix...
Mine got moved from Dallas to Tampa, and I have already noticed a slowdown, I seriously might call Netflix...
They ship from Tampa? That's closer to me than Miami, which is where they are shipping to me from.

Well, I fucked up and now I lost my free trial to Netflix, so I guess I am going to try them for a month and cancel my Blockbuster...

Yeah I live in F'ville, and I am looking to move to Peachtree City. Small world.

My center was in Sacramento (about 15 miles away) and turn around seemed alright, although I was on the trial so I only got one movie before cancelling....

I did the 2 week trial and my turn around time was usually 2 days or less. Granted, I only live about 20 miles from the distribution center...
how many movies do you guys usually get a week from BBO?
I got 3 if I was lucky.

15 disks in 45 days, one about every three days, making no accounting for Sundays/holidays.
And some things I hung on to a while before watching or sending back.
Oh, and there's actually one more that I have that' snot listed because i reported it lost because it arrived late, so they totally removed it from my queue.

I'm happy so far, but I wouldn't be surprised if BBO does something like NF and throttles down the heavy users.

I jsut got their in store movie pass. I thinks thats better than waiting days for movies to come back to me. I can go as many times as I want in a day.

Well, my movies still arent here from Tampa as they would have already been here from Dallas, so its official I'm switching to Netflix

well my shark tale movie got these Yesterday But my Shawn of the dead didnt ship till today. I called them up and complain and was shocked that they gave me 5 bucks off this months bill.

Was either 5 bucks off the bill or Free E coupon

since i already have 2 more e coupons this month i took the 5 bucks

Thats pretty cool, I wish I did that. But I would be doing that with every movie. Ex- Movie mailed this Saturday to Atlanta less than 20 miles away still has not been checked into there system. Another mailed monday same situation still not at there warehouse.

I may be a isolated incident but I never had this problem with Netflix or WalMart online. They would get the movie the next business day or before and sometimes I would have my movie that day.

I've tried Wal-Mart before and had great service from them. Maybe about 3 days turnaround for a disc to arrive, which didn't bother me. Since I had three out at a time I think, I would just rotate them. I could only watch 2 a day at most, so there was always something new arriving it seemed.

Netflix is 3 dollars more a month, and at 1-2 days turnaround time, you can get approximately 5-10 more DVD's a month.

If you are with blockbuster, switch to Netflix, I've never had a single problem with them!

I am doing the BB 2 week trial and they are just not cutting it. I signed up the Sunday before last and recv'd my 1st movie on Wed the next 2 on Thur. Put all 3 in the mail on Sat. According to an email they say they shipped 2 movies yesterday. I still have not heard anything about the 3rd movie. I will be cancelling them on Saturday. The only good thing was the 2 coupons. I am staying with Netflix since the turnaround time is so good.

So I am not the only one with problems with BBO.

this is how i figure it (without using more then the coupons they give you, Meaning not taking them to other stores)

BLockbuster online 14.99 with 2 game coupons 12 movies per month (saying send in monday get them back by weekend)

Netflix 16.99 no coupons 24 movies per month
Say send in monday get weds send in thursday get saturday

twice as much movies right BUT 2 week game coupons will run you anyplace between 10 to 14 bucks in store and we can get a lot of older (2-3 month old) movies for a buck

so both programs work out the same for me this way BUT I take the E Coupons to other stores and get more free movies and games

So far this month i have got 1 free movie and 1 free game using them at another store. I will probally take the coupons over saturday and pick up another free movie and later in the week get another game

so just games alone im pushing 4 free games per month and that would run me 15 bucks alone.

I would think that Netflix would ship from Indianapolis or Cinncinnati to you.
