Hey,today I dropped my laptop:
HP Pavillion 2000 series and the screen looks like a broken mirror with colors all over the place.I googled a bit and I found out a website called ScreenTek.I checked their price for my screen and it would be 260.That same display costs 62 on ebay. My question is would be that if my laptop would need an Invertor or a bracket?
Ebay
and
ScreenTek.
The Laptop is out of Warranty and I have some sensitive information I need to delete before I can sell it.
Thank You.

The problem with my new screen was that the connector in the back of the screen wasn't connected all the way and I made it "click" and it works now!I used this guide.

You probably don't need the bracket. Just use your old one.

Your old inverter is probably still good, but if you really jarred your laptop in the fall, you never know. If you open it up and the inverter doesn't look physically damaged, it's probably ok.

Thanks. The inverter is a circuit under the screen?I opened it up and nothing looks cracked, broken but the LCD doesn't work.Thanks.I ordered it from ebay.
Call me crazy but why don't you just hook up your laptop to an external monitor using a VGA cable?
Beat me to it. An Army guy in Korea thought I was genius for telling him to do this when he was in the same situation

Perhaps he actually uses it as a laptop and takes it places?

It works because the OP said he was concerned about getting some sensitive crap off there and the solution works for that at least.
