I purchased selectively: The Pitt, Point Lookout, & Broken Steel last August and have yet to play through this content.

I've spent probably 3 hours trying to get the GFWL client to download these expansions successfully. The downloads seem to freeze up at various completion %. When I cancel them they don't seem to fully "cancel". It doesn't even seem that you can even close the client or restart it. The system is fucking terrible and I'm ready to play a fully-modded FO3 campaign already.

Anyone had any luck with this GFWL shit?

I'm considering re-purchasing the game through Steam for the "convenience".

Not yet. In fact, I uninstalled it and was waiting for word of the mouth about the system.

Hope your prob gets resolved.

I can't say I have specific experience with downloading Fallout 3 x-packs on GFWL, but at what % completion does the problem occur? If it downloads completely, you might be able to go into your GFWL directory and find an install file, which you can open and run yourself.

How long do you let it sit? I remember downloading a patch or two through the system, it looked like it would lock up at times.

I just let it sit there for a while and it eventually finished. Let it even sit there for an hour if needed.

Anyways, it seems they finally downloaded. In GFWL client they say "installed". There really isn't even a way that I can tell to see if the files ARE installed. But I ran through the intro part of the game and got to the wasteland and I received the 3 "add-on" pop-up messages that let you know the expansions are detected ("Level cap raised to 30, there's a boat going to a swamp, et al").

My recommendation would be to buy FO3 GOTY as one big package and not do it piece meal. I knew specifically which expansions I wanted and I had bought the PC Collector's on launch day.

GFWL is terribly clunky the in game menu for it in FO3 is slow, the mouse cursor doesn't align with the buttons, and it is hard to justify it at all when you can type cheat codes to get all the achievement points anyways whether you own the expansions or not.

Which reminds me that I gotta do that for some achievements that didn't register for some reason.
