I've been searching for the special edition of Fallout 3 online and Best Buy has it for $79.99, compared to Futureshop whose selling it for $89.99 for the console version.
Isn't this the standard price? My EB pre-order is $79.99.
Future Shop is selling the standard game for $64 and the Special Edition for $89.99, likely the result of our dollar slide.

Enjoy on par prices, I expect to see the standard price of games to go back to $64.99 soon unfortunately.

As far as I understand it, if you pre-order a game and fully pay it off in EB's system you are guaranteed that price even if it increases later. That might be the best way to keep on par pricing.

You can only pre-order games in their system though, sooner or later it will catch up.

It doesn't really affect me as I don't buy many games on launch. So far this year all I've bought at launch is Rock Band 2 & Guitar Hero: World Tour. Other then that I wait for a price drop.

Unless the dollar goes back up I won't be buying many games. Worse though will be the prices for the DS/PSP games I can't go back to paying $40-$45 for a portable game.

Here's a nice pic from Neogaf of the Fallout 3 collector's edition, minus the girl and the strategy guide. EB called they have it in stock and I can pick it up Tuesday :)

Does anyone know if the collector's edition is still $79.99 at EB Games.

Also has anyone's EB Games phoned them about picking up your preorder tomorrow. Mine has yet to call me.

I got a call earlier today saying my collectors edition was in, and to grab it tomorrow.
It should still be $79.99. I think they can lower the price, but no increase it when you've pre-ordered. I paid it off months ago, and it would be annoying if they ask me for a few extra bucks tomorrow.

Hopefully getting this collector's edition will make up for that bully who stole my lunch box in the 4th grade. Boy did I kick his ass on the football field in 8th grade though. Didn't say a word to me through high school, but I am still pissed at that kid for taking my lunch box.

On a side note that is the biggest slip cover I have seen for a CE or LE.

Well it appears as though if you want the PC CE, you're better off getting it from Best buy or Future Shop. I am now collector's edition-less because I refuse to pay $84.99, the price EB games Canada is asking for the PC version. Makes me sick.

It's not a huge deal for me, since I don't have much space here anyway and that CE would of taken up quite a bit of whatever free space I had left had. As long as I get to play the game, that's what matters.

On the positive side, the regular edition guide was only 18 bucks from EB games which is roughly equivalent to amazon.ca's price (but I don't have to wait for it). Of course the CE guide is 39.99, hugely overpriced. If you really want the extra 40 pages, just order it from amazon.ca for $25.

PS - I retract my earlier statement, seems even if you have it fully paid off in EB's system you still pay the higher price anyway. Good thing I only buy from EB with trade in credit from those crazy deals, otherwise I would be looking elsewhere to purchase my games.

Odd, I paid $79.99 at EB for mine. I had a preorder on the regular version and decided to get the CE (got lucky because the store had exactly one of them, and no preorders) so I moved the credit over ($59.99 from a T3G1F) and only paid $22ish with tax.

I had my CE completely paid off $69.99 last May with a trade in 3 choose whatever you want weekend. I just picked it up and paid nothing extra for it.

Ditto for me, got it as a trade 3 a few months ago, today it rang up as $79.99 with a $69.99 deposit and then the guy took off $10 so I paid nothing.

The regular edition at Loblaws is $60.

I have a question. I purchased the regular edition of Fallout 3 at a Loblaws in Gatineau Quebec. The front of the game box is normal, without any French (and this is all I looked at when I bought it). The back of the box is entirely in French. Is this copy of the game going to only run in French or does it pick the language based on the console's settings?

I have no idea why people are claiming that EB jacked the price up -- I just picked up my copy from EB an hour ago (preordered but not prepaid) for 79.99. Can anyone actually confirm that they're raising the price, or are people just shooting their mouths off?

FACT :

EB is $79.98 for Collectors.
EB is $64.98 for Regular.

Sorry I should have been more specific with my post. The PC CE is $84.99, the console versions are still $79.99 (I called another store here in Winnipeg and confirmed it). This makes even less sense since the PC version should be cheaper. As it stands the regular PC version is $59.99.

For those who got the Special Edition, do you feel the extra cash was worth it? Amazon.ca has the Special Edition for $74.99 ($64.99 with the coupon) and the regular edition for $53.99 (43.99 with the coupon). Is the Special Edition worth the extra $20??

Of my 3 friends who purchased the CE, mine was the only one with the Vault Boy's legs firmly affixed to the stand of the Bobble Head.

LOL. You got lucky eh? ;-p

I got the special edition mostly for the making off stuff. I haven't seen the video yet and thats what ill be basing it off of. Both the bobble head and the lunch box look great but are pretty bad quality. IGN has a review of the special edition that you could check out for yourself.

EB at my area did raise the price. In fact they are selling it for $95 after tax. I already put $10 down and they charge me for $85 after tax.
