I played through both fallout and then the goty edition on the 360 and never had a problem outside of the occasional freeze which all games have at times.
The VAST majority of games I play never crash. That's super rare for me...though Oblivion crashed all the time on my Xbox, and every once in a while on my Playstation.
It isn't always the devs pushing for a quicker release but the companies over them, ie ms and Sony. I believe Microsoft pushed for them to release that pit expansion so fast and that is why it was so buggy but idk for sure about that.
Normally the platform holder would have no control over release date. Some co-marketing deal could change that though. In the case of those expansions, Microsoft buys timed exclusivity deals on those all the time, so in that case maybe they could force something out.
I think people asume this cause of what happened to the first xbox ( eventhough the 360 has already been around longer then the first xbox) i think 2013 Microsoft will release it.
It's not the length of support, but how fast Microsoft dumps support after their next system is close. Happened with the Xbox, and appears to be happening with the Xbox 360 again.
Where are you getting this idea? The most recent rumors are still 2012 at the earliest
2012's just next year. Tested's my first inkling of this.
How do I know this though? Simple...Microsoft went from massive support for the Xbox from 2005 through 2010...and then hasn't released anything since, and we only have two known upcoming games.
Unless someone can think of a fourth possibility, that leaves:
-Microsoft HAS more games in development, but they're under incredibly tight security. This is very unlikely, both because it would be strange not to announce more things, and because things always leak.
-Microsoft is exiting the game industry. Also very unlikely, and contradicted by rumors.
-Development has shifted to the Xbox 3. This is the most likely of the three IMO, meaning we're probably 6-18 months out.
The thing is, Microsoft makes it easy to tell when a new system is coming. Sony especially you keep seeing some support for a few years. Nintendo you see support through the new system at least. Microsoft it appears dumps support before the new system is officially announced. It happened once, it appears to be happening a second time.
