That's right, my time at CAG has come to an end (for the time being).

I'm moving to Japan (TODAY!?!) to teach English through the JET program.

I'll really miss the sense of community here at the CAG boards and, of course, all the awesome game deals!!!

I'll still check in from time to time, but I'll unfortunately have to miss out on trading/CC sales/and Green Tag sales for a while

Well, sayounara for now and keep up the good work finding gaming deals!!

OH GOD MY CAB'S HERE! GOTTA RUN!

Good luck with that. I'll be doing that after I graduate and when that's all over it's going to be Lt. Fringe.

Have fun. If you look hard enough and know the right people you might be able to get the internet over there. I hear they are pretty tech-savvy. Then you could still come to CAG whenever you want!
you can turn all the japs into CAGs
I think "japs" is not PC. Just to give you a heads-up in social situations.

They have the internet in Japan. Whats the big "farewell" for? Its easy, take your computer, plug it into their Jap cable modems or 56k or whatever, and logg back on. :D

GREETINGS FROM THE WORLD OF TOMORROW!

(First off, I KNOW THERE'S INTERNET HERE! DUH! I was just saying "farewell" b/c I won't be able to help find/get in on gaming deals in the US anymore)

I'm alive and well in my "apartment" in Japan. Well actually its more like a palace. It has 2 friggin floors and only costs me 17,000 yen a month (roughly $170)!!

My job is a cakewalk so far: study Japanese/work on lesson plans all day, flirt with cute girls, & communicate with my broken Japanese.

My town is in the countryside and all we have are grocery stores so that kinda sucks, but on the plus side....its full of single, 20-something women that e-mail me daily! :D

I actually hit up a game shop in the city last week and nabbed a Ceramic White Slim PS2, Katamari 2, The Rumble Fish, and some other wackiness. Japanese game stores are AMAZING! I also got some PERFECT Condition Super Famicom games for about $10-20 each!

Well I have to leave for work now (its 7:45 AM here  ), so I hope everyone is doing well back in the states and good luck to everyone who aspires to come here someday! :D

You should hit up CheapyD in a few months when he moves over there. Hope you enjoy the time over there. So, gameboy415, How long will you be there for?

Do you have to know Japanese to do JET? I heard you don't....

What exactly is JET? Can i do it? I speak cantonese fluently.

Japan Exchange and Teaching program. If you have a bachelors in anything, you can apply to be an assitant english teacher over there. I think you can only get placed outside of big cities, but I could be wrong.

Technically you can be placed ANYWHERE. I'm in a tiny little town, but lots of people get placed in huge cities too. Its pretty much based on who's leaving the program that year and what spaces open up.

Also, you don't HAVE TO have ANY Japanese experience, but it DEFINITELY will help. For example, my Supervisor, the one I was instructed to talk to about ANY problem that could arise, doesn't speak a WORD of English. Heh.
Luckily I took just under 2 years of Japanese back in college and was smart enough to bring along my text books to refresh myself. I'm still at an elementary level of Japanese, but I can communicate well enough.

And MY GOD the women. I don't know if I just lucked out or what, but my town (or at least the Board of Education and Jr. High that I work at) are full of ridiculously attractive girls. And since I'm apparently the only single guy their age in town, I'm quite popular

Well I gots'ta get up hella early tomorrow to catch a bus so sayounara for now!

what was that movie when the big Wave hit japan. there was this dude running down the road with a little dog when the wave hit... it was a good movie but cant think of the name
