Me, my favorite is Ezekial 25:17

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children; and I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers and you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

You know that quote's made up right?

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Apparently I'm marked for termination.

Genesis 3:16

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

>>16:17 Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,

Gold fake wangs and sluts.

Me likey bible.

Luke 14:26

"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple."

Jesus = Hate

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
( 2 peter chapter 3 verse 13 )

&

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
( 1st john chapter 2 verse 22 )

Why Matthew 27:15 - 27:26

15(Q)Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release for the people any one prisoner whom they wanted.

16At that time they were holding a notorious prisoner, called Barabbas.

17So when the people gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release for you? Barabbas, or Jesus (R)who is called Christ?"

18For he knew that because of envy they had handed Him over.

19(S)While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him a message, saying, "Have nothing to do with that (T)righteous Man; for last night I suffered greatly (U)in a dream because of Him."

20But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to (V)ask for Barabbas and to put Jesus to death.

21But the governor said to them, "Which of the two do you want me to release for you?" And they said, "Barabbas."

22Pilate said to them, "Then what shall I do with Jesus (W)who is called Christ?" They all said, "Crucify Him!"

23And he said, "Why, what evil has He done?" But they kept shouting all the more, saying, "Crucify Him!"

24When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that (X)a riot was starting, he took water and (Y)washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of (Z)this Man's blood; (AA)see to that yourselves."

25And all the people said, "(AB)His blood shall be on us and on our children!"

26Then he released Barabbas for them; but after having Jesus (AC)scourged, he handed Him over to be crucified.

gotta love those crazy jews with all the power in Roman controlled Jerusalem.

That was likely described like that to avoid persecution. It would have been dangerous to blame the romans for killing jesus, considering the climate at the time. In reality, that type of behavior was very uncharacteristic of Pilates, who was bloodthirsty and would likely have had no problems with executing jesus.

And considering there were many similar preachers at the time, it's unlikely pilates would have had any special affinity for this one. He'd dealt with his kind before.

Years ago when I was in Sunday school, we were doing a lesson in Ephesians, when I got bored and started reading around I came across this and found it troubling.
Ephesians Ch.6:5-7:
5 Slaves, obey your masters here on earth. Obey with fear and respect. And do that with a heart that is true, the same as you obey Christ.
6 You must do more than just obey your masters to please them while they are watching you. You must obey them like you are obeying Christ. With all your heart you must do what God wants.
7 Do your work, and be happy to do it. Work like you are serving the Lord, not like you are serving only men.

I know I am Jewish it was a play on that. Plus the fact that the Romans were the ones who eventually mass converted so they didnt want to be responsible for their own lords death.
I got ban for making a thread like this on another forum:

http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/9308/u2kbanned6bb.jpg

But besides all that, i have many fav bible verses, one that comes to mind:

" And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. "

Talking about the new earth and new heaven , which is fun times.
And what is the significance of there being “no more sea”? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I was always partial to this piece from Revelation Chapter 10:

9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

how about "Blessed are the cheesemakers", though it's not meant to be taken literally; it refers to any manufacturers of dairy products.

The sons of God saw that the daughters of man were good, and they took themselves wives from whomever they chose. God said, 'My spirit will not continue to judge man forever, since he is nothing but flesh. His days shall be 120 years'. The Nephilim were on the earth in those days and also later. The sons of God had come to the daughters of man and had fathered them. They were the mightiest ones who ever existed, men of renown.

Genesis 6:1
.

(Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NAB)

If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.

(Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB)

If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife. (class - ed.)

(Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment.

Nearly all of the Bibles entries about the women's rights are awesome. And of course, Lott double banging his teenage daughters, that's HOTT!!!

In the book of Genesis

38:3
And she conceived, and bare a son; and he called his name Er

38:6 And Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, whose name was Tamar.
38:7
And Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD slew him.

DIE!

38:8 And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother.

Have sex with your sister in law!

38:9 And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.
38:10 And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also.

"Every sperm is sacred,
Every sperm is great,
If a sperm is wasted,
god gets quite irate"

Oh yea, no masturbation.

It's verses like this that make me dislike the bible. The agenda of keeping people under control and behaving is not even hidden in passages like that

From the book of Judges

9:50 Then went Abimelech to Thebez, and encamped against Thebez, and took it.

9:51 But there was a strong tower within the city, and thither fled all the men and women, and all they of the city, and shut it to them, and gat them up to the top of the tower.

9:52 And Abimelech came unto the tower, and fought against it, and went hard unto the door of the tower to burn it with fire.

9:53 And a certain woman cast a piece of a millstone upon Abimelech's head, and all to brake his skull.

9:54 Then he called hastily unto the young man his armourbearer, and said unto him, Draw thy sword, and slay me, that men say not of me, A women slew him. And his young man thrust him through, and he died.
You know that quote's made up right?
Parts of it are made up. The bulk of it is in there though.

1 Corinthians 11:5
And for a woman to pray or prophecy with her head uncovered shows disrespect for her head.
1 Corinthians 11:6
Indeed, if a woman does go without a veil, she should have her hair cut off too.

Wear a hood, bitch!

1 Corinthians 11:7
But for a man it is not right to have his head covered, since he is the image of God and reflects God's glory; but a woman is the reflection of man's glory.

1 Corinthians 14:34
As in all the churches of God's holy people, women are to remain quiet in the assemblies, since they have no permission to speak: theirs is a subordinate part.
1 Corinthians 14:35
If there is anything they want to know, they should ask their husbands at home: it is shameful for a woman to speak in the assembly.

"Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous, love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offense, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end."
- John 4:8

You laugh now, but it'll melt your girlfriends heart.

Also;
Proverbs: For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

Thank you Mike23. It's disappointing how negatively threads in this forum can go.

A few of my own:

1 Samuel 16:7 - But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

Phillippians 2:3-4 - Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 13 - Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity

John 15:13 - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

And one that fits this thread:

Matthew 7:3 - Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

Pardon me if any of the wordings are wrong. I'm taking these from memory and a website, as my bible is at home.
