Very true, but also not so good idea if everyone did the same idea as you did. SE would never get the sales and never make anymore movies for the fans. Even if SE did make a profit already, its something called supporting the publisher for their hard work. Now saying that I think its ok do such thing as I do it myself but if you like it and its good you should definately pay the price to get it.

on that note, thanks op in for one (ordered). I have the dvd special edition and the dvd limited edition. This will complete my collection nicely :p

I didnt judge this movie. I didnt say "I feel this sucks because others do". I just said I heard it sucked. Also, I feel bad for you because you're buying the same damn movie three times!

lol you just contradicted yourself in the same sentence. Also each edition has different exclusive things which i dont mind (for dirt cheap) so as a collector i dont think thats sad. Do research next time before you try to act cool on the interweb k?

How did I contradict myself? I didn't say I heard this movie sucks so I think it sucks. I just simply said I heard it sucks. Also, UMD and "collector" is a big contradiction (it's my opinion that owning three copies of the same damn product with mere differences is ridiculous, but it's your dollar), and uh, I'll just pretend you didn't say someone's trying to act cool on the internet. :lol:

Also, if you need to reply to this I would reccomend it via PM so the OP's thread doesent get clogged with useless posts.

in his defense, i thought this movie sucked when i watched it. but that's my opinion of it and i don't feel bad for anyone buying the umd ;). i think advent children is going to be most enjoyed by people that find the game very nostalgic, or just want to watch it cause it's based on FF7. it sucks as a stand alone movie IMO, but i guess it was really meant for the die-hard fans anyway.

It's called good marketing. They've been doing this to Star Wars fans for 20 years now.

With Star Wars, yes, but not so much in the case of Advent Children - it's barely been marketed at all, particularly within the last year. There's a difference between effective marketing and fanboyism.

Can anyone get GCO to work here? Clicking the GCO button leads to a blank white screen, which DVDempire claims is Google's problem. This leads me to believe they are incompetent, and to not trust them with my credit card number.

Well, I know that google checkout is incompetent. If your seller doesn't give you what you purchased, GCO just says that its between you and the seller. PayPal, on the other hand, will help you fight dead beat sellers.
 
it looks like dvd empire doesn't know how to use GCO on their site and are trying to pass the buck. And, honestly, Paypal functions as a bank, GCO is a middleman. Paypal will also freeze your bank account and pull money from you as a seller before you get a chance to respond to a complain from a buyer, so there's issues there as well.
 
I just sold my copy on Ebay along with a handful of other UMD movies that I bought dirt cheap. They just aren't as practical as gaming on the go (for me), and I'd rather own the DVDs. Its still a good deal for anyone wanting the movie, but if you don't have it on DVD and you'll only buy it once...get it on DVD, as it is much more enjoyable :D
