Hey guys, I was playing my PS3 today and i had to do an emergency shutoff (aka pull the plug), but now the PS3 file system is corrupted. It boots up and asks if I want to fix it. It then says it can't and asks me to format. The thing is, I have a 750GB hard drive almost full of content and I am NOT reformatting. The main reason is that I've had this problem before, I just can't remember how I fixed it. I never had to reformat or anything and it works fine now. So I was wondering, anybody have any experience with this and maybe know a fix? (Restroing file system from recovery menu didn't work, nor did rebuilding the database.) Thanks in advance.

BTW, running a 120GB Slim purchased December 2010.

That happened to me once. I think I gave in and reformatted it and everything was still there. Can't remember for sure though.

Err nvm, i see you already tried the recovery menu.

Might have to format =/.

You can always back up your data to an HDD or something then restore it, seeing as its the same PS3.
