So, I decided to try out Final Fantasy VIII on for size, and seeing as I'm mostly into the RPG more into the 'building the ultimate 'toon'', I'd thought I'd try the good 'ol reliable Gameshark2 v2, both for the PSX, of course...
So, I selected the codes I wanted, and booted it up.. and waited... and waited... nothing happened, it just says 'Loading...'. So, I thought, 'Maybe too many codes...' I went back, and enabled just one... And, again, the lovely 'Loading...' screen, and nothing.
Ok, so I thought maybe the 'bootstrap' thingy it uses to start the game might be damaged... so, tried without codes. It works then... Ok, as one last test, I disabled ALL codes, and told it to boot with codes... guess what it does? 'Loading...' all over again! Oi!
I'm thinking of two possible things here.
First: Is it possible that the PS2 cannot support the use of this game and Gameshark? No documentation that I can find answers this.
Or second: I read that this game has some kind of anti-mod apparatus built in so if you have a mod chip, or some such, it'll come up with an error... is the Gameshark triggering that somehow, and freezing the system?
Also: I hear that I may be missing the 'master code' thingy to make the Gameshark work with the game... but... hows does one enter codes in the Gameshark2 v2, or Gameshark2? [I have both.] [Again, lack of documentation is available for this.]
Any help with this will be great... thanks for your time.
