I've been toying with pre ordering this a bit. Cant decide maybe you guys can help me.

Pros:
I never played x2 but I loved X and played it a lot on PS2.

Pre ordering gets you that fancy and probably soon to be highly collectable artbook packaged like the Kingdom Hearts HD one was.

It's only $40 ($31.99 GCU for me) which is cool but then again every game should be $40 if you ask me.

Cons:

No cross buy. What the F gives.

I hated it when I bought the CE arkham City and Kingdom Hearts HD pre order and the game was packaged in the back of the art book. I like normal cases I can put on my shelf with the rest of my games.

Maybe a sale on it soon? Get it even cheaper. (Big time CAG here, I ALWAYS avoid paying full retail)

I dont know, opinions? Did you pre order yet?

Here's the unboxing of the Limited Edition available at Gamestop (free upgrade with preorder, but not sure if it is still currently available). Not sure if it will be available at Best Buy though.

Unfortunately the artbook is connected to the case, but doesn't look as bad as the FFXIII-2 LE one imo.

FFX will be the international version that was never released in the US, so there is extra content (dark aeon battles)

Never finished FFX-2, it was different with the whole costume battle system, but back then when I got it, couldn't get into the story really, but will we see this time.

Best Buy's been up in the air with me. I had about $30 in credit sitting around on Amazon, and with Amazon, I could get the Special Edition (with the artbook disk-holder and the slipcover) for pre-order and for $10 OOP. But since its FREE shipping, I have to play the waiting game to get it. Best Buy may have it on GCU for $32 before taxes, but despite the confirmation on BBY forums that they are participating in Special Edition pre-orders for the release, their website does not reflect the SE upgrade. There have even been stories of those going into the store to pre-order it have been given receipts that outline the regular edition, not the special edition. So...I would say that right now, if you want the artbook version aka the SE for no additional cost, see if your nearest Best Buy will have some in stock on day of release. Amazon and Gamestop have stopped their pre-orders on the SE and Best Buy is most assuredly the same way.

I would recommend this version because when it goes out of stock after the week of release, the re-sellers can turn it around to sell for $50-60 possibly, while SE offers a better edition for $80 with a soundtrack and a couple other small things.
