First Images of Xenosaga Episode III

I only have a few hours into the second one. At this point I haven't decided wether I even like the latest one, let alone consider pre-ordering III...

It's hard to get excited about this after the second one sucked so much. I hope they listened to the fans before making this one.

What was so bad about the second one? Like I said in a previous post, I'm only a few hours into it. I don't care if you spoil some of the story, I'm going to finish it anyway... after I get through some other games. I loved the first one, I spent most of my time playing all the mini games.
Looks almost just like the second one, except with more cleavage. Sales must have been slow.
lol, that's a good one!

Well, the "skill pool" system really turned me off-- I liked how customizable everyone was in the first one, whereas everyone seemed almost the same in ep.2. The battle system was pretty repetitive too. Also, the side quests are soooo tedious. Not nearly as fun as the minigames in Ep.1. Story wise, I'll just say that they spent too much time developing some stuff and not enough time answering the questions part 1 raised, which made the story feel like nonsense.

YMMV

Thanks for the heads up. The sad news is I have to waste hours of my life to finish it off... After Red Faction, RF2, Onimusha 2, and 3... may be a while 'till I get back to it.

I miss the card game. Yea, it was shallow and not too difficult. But it's hella cheaper than playing a CCG in real life, and fun while it lasted. :whistle2:(

Finding the Swim Suit Shion card was also a nice bonus. Not that I'm pervy or anything.

I thought this was originally intended to be a 6 or 7 part series, as outlined by Xenogears perfect works. Oh well.

Xenogears Disc 1 owns all over all of them. But since Disc 2 was so heavily rushed and raped by Squaresoft, I'll give the overall to Xenosaga 1.

3 does look a lot like 2 but with better shading and smoother textures.

Xenogears was the best. It had an all inclusive story. Xenosaga 1 and 2 should have been 1 game in a 5 part series. (Xenogears being V IIRC, maybe IV) Stretching the first installation into 3 games pretty much shatters that framework though. I personaly cant stand 2. The story totally dies between 1 and 2. Where are the gnosis? Where did the new robots come from? Why did they have the 'new' and better robots in the past, but not use them again until now? And why the hell did they change the voices?
