First pic of Guncon 3(Time Crisis 4 PS3)
graphics don't look to hot but could be shitty scan. Thats nunchuck in a black sleeve.
I thought that too, but was this game ever confirmed for wii?

no idea been hearing ps3 only but looks like wii wouldn't be a problem at all but selling a gunco when a wiimote does the same thing hmmm.

Yeah, zog is right, except the plastic itself will be molded in that ghey safety orange--not even a paint job.

Better import mine. :)

Bwahahahahahah.
You think this game could be done on a Wii? Look at Ghost Squad. Even that isn't a perfect port.

I already have Time Crisis 4 reserved. I wonder if they'll have a 2-Player multiconsole version. I assume they'll probably just do a splitscreen on a widescreen game.

Any word if the gun has motion in it? That would REALLLLLLY help for the port of HotD4.

Also, any chance this will be backwards compatible, unlike the GunCon2?
You think this game could be done on a Wii?
You think it COULDN'T be done on a Wii? Time Crisis has never been the most graphics-heavy game.

Is it still a wired Guncon? That's one of my biggest caviot with the Guncon is that you have to plug it into the RCA jacks in the TV (which sucked because I was using S-Video for my PS2 at the time).

As for the front, you can see that there's two buttons there, not sure what they're used for but it's definately attached and definately not a Wii-mote.

I don't really like the design that much... better yet, they'll inevitably paint it orange or some shitty color when it comes out in the US. Can't have something that looks nice now can we?

ARE YOU BLIND? i posted pics and it is already ORANGE

What about the children!? We can't have them thinking it's a real gun!

Or I didn't read through the rest of the posts. Don't worry, we're all paying attention to you. Run along now, little boy.

Explaination on how the gun will work on "any tv".

For the GunCon 3, you place two markers on the left and right sides of your TV screen. A camera inside the muzzle of the gun detects the position of the markers, and thus you can use it regardless of your monitor [type]. There are six buttons on the device and two analog sticks. One of them is placed on a "sub-grip" that you hold with your left hand, and another is on the barrel of the gun.

>>Also, when it says "barrel", I think they mean that back part of the GunCon not the front.

1. Do they really think that holding the gun like that is comfortable?

2. Do they really think that attaching the wiimote ripoff to the gun would make it look less like a blatant ripoff of the Wii's nunchuk?

3. Not bringing this game to the Wii was the dumbest thing they could have done.

4. $90 dollars? HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA

It was originally an arcade game and a fairly recent one, so if it got ported to the Wii, it'd almost certainly have to be dumbed down significantly.

What's really odd is I have an orange color-changing skin on my Sixaxis I got cheap at Wal Mart (helps when playing Marvel:UA, I kept slinging the dang thing into the ceiling fan when I was fighting Arcade...)

Oh the irony! ;)

Who loves orange? MEEEE!

2. Apparently having two handles on a gun makes it a ripoff? I didn't know.
3. Just because you like waggling your wand doesn't suddenly justify every game for the GameCube Turbo.
This is the first game that actually makes me feel bad about having to use a projector when I game.
I just read (on joystiq I think?) that it'll work with ANY type of display. The game apparently comes with 2 little 'markers' that you attach to either side of your screen and the gun uses those markers to determine where you're pointing. Kind of like the Wii remote, but no to plug in a sensor bar.

Hah. No one reads anyone elses posts it seems but yeh... I reposted the info back at #18.

Maybe a little, but not much.

for some reason, I don't think pointing and clicking a remote would be as fun as using a gun controller.

interactive channel surfing FTL.

Nice try, but you fail. There are already a handful of gun attachments for the Wii not including the official Nintendo one that is on the way and probably some licensed ones too.

Still not a true lightgun. It's a pointer.

I hope this new GunCon isn't a pointer.

I think whoever made this thing is the one that failed:

Any gun involving sticking a Wii remote into a plastic shell is going to look and feel like crap. fact.

What are you even doing in this thread, besides trolling a system you have no interest in?

Nice try, but you fail... at life.

The flashlight attachment mentioned in the IGN article sounds cool! I like the way that this game is headed. Now if they'd only pack-in a pedal with the game...

Anyway, I'm quite excited for this game, due to liking Time Crisis. I still need the 2nd one and Crisis Zone though.

Well, it's official, the GunCon is now a glorified Wiimote.

The news about the camera and markers, and now this:

The GunCon 3 itself has a bevy of new features, including the ability to sense forward and backward movement, along with a small amount of tilting.

What is the problem if it works right? It wouldn't work on certain TV set ups at all if it wasn't made the way it is going to be.

What makes the distinction between a pointer and a lightgun? That it only reads when you pull the trigger? Technology in CRTs required that you flash the screen, this provides constant input, which would mean games like Crisis Zone would not need to put up the fog texture to read constant input.

All this talk about porting it to the Wii is hilarious, because Namco could have done it, but the Wiitards are getting upset because a series they've never played is getting put on a console they'll never own.

It's just going to be a mess of wires.
But man, if this is the only way it'll work on HDTVs, then so be it.
I'm just worried the speed will be slowed down.

Because the "pointer", as I've dubbed it, requires the sensors to map it out.
I'm sure you've used the Wiimote. Movement isn't exactly 1:1. There is delay, taking out 3 enemies, one on each corner of the screen in half a second probably isn't going to happen.

The pointer designates that its more like a mouse, the movement and pointing is relative to the sensors and not the screen.

Rather than pointing AT the screen with a traditional light gun.

It's not HDTV's that are the problem, it's LCD's, IIRC the Guncon games don't work right on LCD's (and I assume Plasma's).

Ah, forgot to mention that.
Thanks.

I could theoretically put my sensors to the right of the TV and point there instead.
Or if my arm gets tired, I'll put the sensors on the floor and just point down! :)

Oh crap, does this mean there will be a crosshair present?! (yes, it does)

Ah yes, my mistake. Lightguns have a problem with LCD, Plasma, and some projection TVs.

If you watch the video, he says they updated the textures for the PS3 version and that they are much better then the arcade's. Also mentions something about being able to have a lot of characters on the screen with the PS3 but didn't say they have added more compaired to the acrade or anything.

No picture of the cameras yet that I have found.
