They have posted a picture of Bumblebee from the upcoming Transformer movie and a few screens of the teaser trailer thats coming in a week or so.
 
Its Transformers, so I want to be excited, but I read the director didn't even want to do the movie until he forced some shitty human romances.

WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED FOR AN AWESOME MOVIE THAN fuckING ROBOTS THAT TURN INTO fuckING CARS AND HAVE INTERGALACTIC BATTLES!?!?!?!?!

A local Prop Shop I was at a couple weeks back supplied Transformers with a lot of the Army gear. It was funny to see the amount of rubber machine guns they rented for this show.
 
i cant wait for this movie to come out.... just seeing bumble bee makes me think it will bebetter then i thought

This is going to be interesting. I heard VW didn't let Bay use the Beetle for Bummblebee because they didn't want to be associated with war. Anyone know if this is true?

They are. Supposedly, Bumblebee is the only TF they made a full model of. For those of you that missed the pic, don't worry about it. It was a very poor shot. BB was laying down on a transport, didn't seem to be fully assembled (at the very least missing a hand, and seemingly missing parts of armor) and the shot was from the top of the head, so details were few and far.

According to "early" script reviews, he doesn't actually speak. He communicates with Spike through the radio. I mean, wtf!

Teaser trailer is pretty weak. At least the Spiderman 3 teaser showed FOOTAGE.

Anyone else think that the premise of the teaser/plot is pretty stupid?
 
If you follow the Alternators/BinalTech toy line, rumor is they had a BumbleBee VW New Beetle all planned out, but no, VW doesn't want to be associated with "war toys." Seems that way with many German companies in general; they want to forget WWII ever happened and never be associated with anything aggressive anymore. Don't they not get WWII/extremely violent video games, either?

dude thats NOT megatron... not G1, or Beast Wars(pre beast shell form).. Iam going to shoot Michael Bay if he mix and matches shit from the current incarnations with the G1's just to please old and new fans. I totally reject anything after G1 with the exception of BW/BM.

Eh... if it's not based off G1, I'm not gonna bother with it in theaters. But we got a year to find out.
 
Didnt G1 Megatron turn into a gun? And the G2 Megatron turn into a tank?

All you people who're freaking out about what generation it is... first, get a life... its a movie people, and though michael bay is a horrible director... I can't imagine anyone is really going for the plot. It's to see fucking transformers transform into cars with real life characters and CG.

Second, Megatron turning into a giant gun is retarded... and if you think thats how it should be, then THAT would be a great reason why, when the director listens to the fans, the movie completely flops.
 
^^ Exactly. Just be thankful that we get to actually have a new TF movie. It doesn't matter if Megs turns into a gun or a tank, or if Bumblebee turns into a bug or camaro. What's important is that the TF franchise lives on.

And if VW didn't want to license their cars, then it's their loss, pure and simple. They make shitty cars anyway (according to consumer reports).
 
Oh, and don't complain about not getting the original voice actors. That doesn't matter either.

Would you have wanted Adam West in Tim Burton's 1990 Batman flick?
 
Michael Bay is gonna fuck this one up. His kids probibly told him, Megatron is a tank. fuck yea its gonna be cool for Megatron to turn into a gun and have one of his goons fire it. Thats what made it so awesome.

My God yes! ;)

Since the only reason I would go see this is for nostalgia's sake (i.e. if I didn't play with Transformers as a kid, I would have zero interest in a Transformers movie), why would I not care which generation it is? I didn't watch or care about Beast Wars, so I have no interest in a Beast Wars movie.

That being said, as long as it is fairly faithful to its beginnings, I'd be happy.

look man, Megatron turns into a gun - when i first saw that shit I was freaking the fuck out - HE TURNS INTO A GAT.

And in the movie, he turns into a gat that fuckin kills everyone on the ship.

Megatron doesn't need to be a stupid airplane or car - he's a straight up killing machine - he doesn't haul around frozen food in his cargo bay or whatever - his only purpose is to kill.

and that's awesome.

i don't really care what they do - they can michael bay this film to hell for all i care - at the end of the day i've still got the original movie.

and orson welles is dead so they won't even be able to remake that magic.

Wells did the voice of Unicron in the TF:TM The person who did his voice in the episode "Ghost in the machine" where star scream gets his old body back was actually pretty good.

Both G1 voice actors for both Prime and Megatron are still alive. They were approached but turned down the offer.
 
Here's the thing: if you were Bumblebee, which would you rather be:

1)either an old 75hp/or new 120hp compact car with a flower vase
2)a 450-500hp pony/musclecar

And I agree, Michael Bay needs to hang it up. But, we'll be dissapointed either way this movie turns out. If it really sucks, he's done, but TF sucks. If it's great, TF's great but Bay gets to do more movies.
 
looking at the bumblebee pics...it looks as if they are using the alternator/binaltech line of toys as reference, at least for the autobots.

No, because mass-shifting is a dumb idea that would've turned off a lot of viewers. The director's goal is to make a crap load of money. That in turn will yield potential sequels. That won't happen if you cater to a small fan base instead of the mass market.

several million is NOT a small fan base you fool!

Mass-shifting worked for 3 seasons and NO ONE complained about it. Hell even with the season releases on dvd, I still accept it... yea im an 80's fan but who the hell cares.
 
Why can't you guys wait to complain until after the movie releases. How many people complained about the look of X-MEN when the first movie came out (including me) and then were blown away? Just give it a chance, don't shoot it down without giving it a chance.

The fan base is NOT several million. If you're including those that say "oh, yeah, I liked that show when I was a kid - who was the bad guy again?", then they aren't fans. They could care less if the original voices were used. Mass-shifting might be neat on a cartoon, but is guaranteed to look stupid with live actors.
 
The silhouetted transformer in the trailer looks like the leaked photo of Bumblebee. The head and shoulders look like the same shape from both pictures.
