First off, all our hearts and prayers go out to everyone in the path of Tropical Storm Gustav. I'm glad to hear that Bobby Jindal has taken the appropriate precautions and this should turn out nothing like Katrina.

There is some absolutely delicious irony in this whole situation. Focus on the Family makes a snarky video praying for "rain of biblical proportions" during Barack Obama's Aug. 28 appearance at Invesco Field in Denver to accept the Democratic nomination for president. Instead, the weather was absolutely beautiful with a warm breeze - no one could have asked for better.

Suddenly, Tropical Storm Gustav (soon to be Hurricane Gustav) is quickly gaining speed and about to hit land and right during the start of the Republican National Convention. So rather than having a strong platform from which to counter the Democrat's highly successfully convention and toute their new VP pick, they may have to postpone their own convention (as reported by Washington Post).

So what's the Republicans to do? Continue the convention and fight the Hurricane for headlines? Or, postpone it and risk seriously disorganizing the convention (imagine how many airplain tickets and hotel reservations need to be done).

If Mother Nature chose I side, I think I know who she's rooting for.

Katrina was a yo-ima-fuck-yo-shit-up hurricane and Gustav is a little rain... of course t won't turn out like Katrina, but that has nothing to do with Jindal.
