For Family Guy fans

CAGiversary!
I don't know if anyone else has heard this , but apprently there will be a new series out called American Dad by the same guy who brought us family guy (one of the best cartoons ever) Seth MacFarlane. It seems that Seth was suppose to be American Airlines flight 11 on Sept. 11th 2001 but due to some mixup he missed it. (For those of you who don't know that was the same flight that was hijacked and crashed into the twin towers). Well it seems that based on that experience he created American Dad. It's about a father who works for the CIA and his family life at home. It will air sometime Feb. 2005 (maybe after superbowl?) If you want to read more go to http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/ShowMainServlet/showid-21935/American_Dad/. (Sorry if this was posted before :) )

I am wondering if they are even going to be doing this cartoon anymore, since the new Family Guys are slated to be aired around the same time.

hmmm good point. But if it came down to it i think i would want new episodes of family guy.

yeah, i read that almost a year ago. since then, they started making new family guy episodes, so i could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure that since more family guy episodes are in production this series won't come to fruition.

American Dad will premiere next January on Fox. Family Guy will return for the summer season in a year from now.

hey if it actually comes out i'm fine with that, i'm sure it will be entertaining. it's just that the characters seem derivitive of family guy's. sure, peter isn't exactly in the CIA, but a sarcastic alien and a german speaking fish? i'm surprised their names aren't brian and stewie.

I thought cartoon network was going to be getting the new Family Guy episodes? As for American Dad, I look foward to it, but not with that much anticipaiton. It sounds just like Family Guy 2.

From what I understand, Cartoon Network is getting the new Family Guy episodes, but after Fox.

I also have a feeling that American Dad is going to be Family Guy with more political jokes instead of random trivia jokes. Frankly, that's what makes American Dad seem less interesting. The greatest part about Family Guy is all of the random references they make. American Dad looks like it will just be more jokes about the government, which I don't find nearly as funny. How many "Bush is a bad public speaker" jokes can we have?
