I recently purchased a PS2 while in Tokyo and since Japan runs on 100 voltage and U.S. runs on 110 voltage, I am trying to find an inexpensive yet sturdy and reliable solution to not blowing up my PS2, burning down my house, or having a Silver PS2 brick.

If anyone has found a similar solution to the same problem, when method did you use?

There are many out there, but many are just cheaply made. I need something that will provide the necessary coverage to protect the PS2.

I am aiming for less than $15.

I've owned both the fat and slim models for many years..since launch, and never ever had an issue. Don't bother...as he said.

Thank you both for your above replies.

kirin lemon, are you currently in Japan? if so are you using an american PS2 in Japan or are you in the USA using a Japanese PS2.

I know when I plugged my american camera battery charger in the outlets in Japan it worked fine but Japan is 100 v VS american 110 v. So if anything things should just work slower.

but pumping 110v into the Japanese PS2 should be fine?

Doesnt mean that I dont trust you guys but I'm just a bit too cautious.
