Format PS3 hard drive?

I just got a 80GB PS3 and notice that 10GB is used. Does anyone know if I can format the drive or is there something in there? I tried to dig through the menus to see what I can find, but nothing. I tried searching on CAG for something similar and found nothing.

It's reserved for the OS and other system assets.
