I got a hold of 4 sealed copies of suikoden 1 today. What should i expect to get for them in this nice sealed conditions? i know the last suikoden i put on ebay about 6 months back got 35usd for an open copy. what should i expect a sealed copy to go at?

In our local newpaper you can put a 3 line ad for free for items under 50$ into the classified section. I watch it every week and i happen to see this one that said playstation game suikoden new/sealed $$$. (took out amount i paid) i called. seems he had 4 of them and he also had 2 sealed vandal hearts for $20 each also. shud i go back and grab those. He had a 5th one that he was keeping and he gladly swaped me it for one in my hand and cracked it open so i could see it was good. they even have the sticky hook tags on the back and whatever upc/sku code labels on the back that the stores put on them. such a nice deal.

115.. madness. i feel dirty hahahaha

what you mean open it and play it.. i have one open already that i play. thanks though :)

im gonna get the wife to get the scanner up on her computer so ic an get scans. i can make some pics from my digital camera till she gets the scanner up

Oki. i got my camera out and took 3 pics. Take a peek and let me know what i should do with them. Should i ebay them and for how much exactly. Cheers

I remember when that game (along with Vandel Hearts) were part of the $20 assortments (in numbers of 10 or more) a few years ago.

Fixed the photo size. Sorry bout that. dang camera defaulted that big.

Yah it just a fluke that i caught it. He said he had one guy come by and get 1 but the others he still had. i was like..what the..he took only 1. He said he got them at walmart/Kmart years ago when he worked there. said he just had a box of each suikoden1 and vandal hearts (6 in a box). Is vandal hearts worth grabbing at 20cad for sealed?

Used VH copies cost about that much here in the US. (Probably a bit less) You might be able to make a marginal profit on eBay, though VH2 is rarer. The game is pretty fun if you haven't played it, though.

I got some sealed vandal hearts II at toys r us's in southern ontario (along with a bunch of rez's and other stuff) earlier this year. Kept one vh2 and sold the other one, but didn't make much on it. Think it only went for like 30 or 40 u.s. or something (think I paid 20 cad). Though one went for 50 u.s. on ebay recently.

Do you really need to make money that badly or could you sell a couple copies to a CAG for a reasonable price? Im not interested, but im sure alot of people on here either dont want to spend that much, or dont have the money to buy even a used copy. Just a thought.

Being nice has its limits. Throwing away 10 bucks help a CAG, that's nice. Throwing away 200 bucks to help a CAG, that's idiotic. I'm sure some may disagree, but that's how I see it.

Amazing find! Thats a great lil profit you made, gratz to you! Btw if you are going to ebgay them, I heard the best way to do it is just start it at a penny or whatever.

Yeah, cutting someone a deal on a disc only Suikoden just so they can play it is one thing but this is another. It makes no sense to open a new one to play it when you can sell an new one and then buy a used copy and have alot of money left over.

I would of course give cags a deal. Im waiting for the holidays to be over so i can get down to the post office and see what rates im looking at for insured shipped to USA/Canada. Recently the post office has increased the price of insured rate parcels and i want to make sure i have all the information before i offer them up. I would rather sell them to someone who is going to take care of them and someone that is a serious collector. I will probably sell 2 on ebay at a fixed price. and the other 2 i will offer for cags at a lower price

I don't think the OP has to offer them to CAGs but if one is going to just take profits on a find like this, don't rub our noses in it :)

I would just dump them on ebay but I'd also keep a lower profile about the whole thing.

I bought 2 WOW CE sets at Target for $40 each . . . sold them for $450 combined on ebay with high enough shipping to cover costs. But I didn't start a thread about my total bastardness.

To the OP, what was wrong with the seller . . . mental illness, Down's syndrome, junkie???

first off. i did not make this thread as a bragging thread. i came here to ask for some advice on what i should do with them. i knew going into the purchase that i was going to make some good money on it. i had *expected* that a sealed copy of these would only fetch 60$ as i had some a open version at 35 sometime back. When i came to cag and posted this thread i was then enlightened that the price i thought i could get for them was only 1/2 of what i could get. I came here to get the honest opinions from people that know what this kinda game is worth. i was asked in the thread to put up pictures. which i did. i did not put them up to brag about them. I came to get answers and i got them. *thanks to the honest helpful people that help me*

I DO plan to offer some to cags at a discounted rate. but these will be to the people that were actually helpful and not the ones that just bashed me. I came for help. I got it. The bashing was unnecessary.

you know what I say good for you man. There's alot of jerkoffs on CAG that'll bash any and every thread, it's really pathetic and they should be banned. Don't offer them discounts they don't deserve it, give it to the people that are cool. And no I'm not trying to butter you up like someone will probably accuse me of,I already have Suikoden I.(see my game list) Just saying what I feel. :D

You should brag, and you should put then on ebay. Enjoy your score. The reason the bashing is unnecessary and ignorant is because they can't use the number #1 war cry "OMG HOARDER" - This wasn't a sale or a game commonly found in stores - it was simply good luck. I would think you could get $120-150 each depending on how/when they were listed.

And I don't think you should sell them for a discount to CAGers. The idea that a person should be obligated to do things like this for other random people just because they frequent the same message board is ridiculous. If there is a CAGer that has hooked you up with a deal before, or maybe made a great trade, those are the people who I'd hook up. But regardless if people want to admit it, the majority of CAGers if in your place would NOT do the same for you, and a majority of CAGers would just resell your game for a profit.

Dave

Since you didn't get them off a deal from cag, I guess you don't really need to share them with everybody. You don't really have a super high amount anyway, so you might as well sell them on E-Bay. With the money you get, you could get about anything you wanted. Well, within reason anyway.

dont sell to any CAGS dude like somone said a few posts earlier , helping a cag with a cheaper game is alright but helping with somthing that will make you upwards of 200 bucks , no , keep it for yourself

exactly. as others had mentioned earlier, you are not obligated to sell these to other CAGs for a discount. hook yourself up. your earned it by scouring those classifieds all the time. treat yourself to something.

whether you decide to sell 2 to CAGS for a discount or not, let me know. i need suikoden 1 and 2 to complete my suikoden collection.

i agree with the last few posts. sell them yourself on ebay for as much as you can get. there's no need to hook up anyone with that kind of game on CAG. that's a terrific score. you could sell all of them and get yourself a nice xbox 360 package if you wanted.

I wasnt trying to be an ass when i suggested it. I was just saying, because you got them for cheap, and you could still make a fair amount selling one or two on ebay and then two or three on here. Just my opinion. I would rather hook up a CAG than make that much money on a game. Id rather make people happy than fill my pockets, but thats just me.

If you put them on ebay (which I think you should), I'd say don't sell more than two at the same time. Having gobs of them on ebay drives the price down, because everyone thinks they're easy to get. IF you really feel generous and are in need of games, offer one in trade for a bunch of your wants.

Good luck with the auctions.

Exactly.... YOu made a find, earn yourself the profits of it. Its nice to hear that this is a community that shares and helps each other out, but dont demand it. Why should he help out a random person on the board just because hes on this board... He shouldnt and doesnt have to. Sell em on ebay man, take the wife out to a nice restraunt

What the shit.... that's a nice find.

I found 2 of them sealed about 4 years ago and 2 sealed original Castlevania SOTN at a flea market for 10 bucks each (for those of you in the Montgomery area, it was that asstacular one near Chip Ellis Cars on Southern Blvd.). I sold then one of the Castlevania's on ebay for around $150, and gave the Suikodens to 2 friends for free just for the hell of it since I bought mine the day it came out. I kept the SOTN as a spare, and ended up opening it due to someone busting up my old one when I moved.

Im going to put one up on ebay tomorrow for a week and see how it goes. I will take the advice of not putting them all up at once as to not flood the market of sealed suikodens. I will start it low and have a reserve bid (still fairly low) and see how it works out. Thanks for all the idea's guys

Why would you waste 100 bucks (though, for the record, I sold mine for 300 a month or so ago) and open the SOTN instead of selling it and then just buying a used one for like 40 bucks?

Though, to the OP, offer worldwide shipping, particularly to europe. A lot of old, sealed, valuable games have come into my possession (many from a local ma and pa store that had tons of old stuff when I found it), and, trust me, europe is your friend here. The clear majority of that stuff that I sell goes to europe, and for more than any american or canadian ever wants to pay.

Yeah that is one of the main reasons im not putting it up today. I want to get down to the post office to make sure i have correct rates for each shipping type. ie Us,Canada, international, plus i need to get the rates for these small packages with insurance/tracking. Canada postal rates suck hard when it comes to insurance and tracking. Its not like the states where you just add like 1.50 to get tracking/insurance. They actually make you send it expresspost. total ripoffs. It will end up being like 10$ for insurance and tracking to the US. its even scarier for oversea's. in Canada its not bad. like 6.50 or something but geez. its cheaper for me to drive to the border and ship my packages out. :)

other suggestions on when to sell your other copies:
The week before Xmas you might be able to sell it for great price, espically if you can get it to them before Xmas
Another good time would be around the release of the new suikodens.

Also wont be a bad idea to list one here at CAG since there are some collectors here. You might be able to offer if cheaper without the ebay fee. Also some would consider making a trade with other valueable goods that you might want.

While canada post does stuck (within canada and from outside canada), that's the case for insurance with every country. Only the internal u.s. shipments allow insurance, otherwise you need to send it registered (unpadded envelope) or EMS. To insure a game to canada, I'm looking at about 16 bucks.

So if you would help out a CAG, with your OH SO WONDERFUL heart, give me $200 for no reason. What you said that you would rather help someone out then have your pockets full, so do it. Or are you going to act like a hypocrite, which I know you are from that ridiculous post.

The idea of selling it to someone on the boards here at a discount is noble. But what would that CAGer do with the game? Open it and play it? They might as well buy it used and save some money.

My bet is that they'd turn it around themselves for a profit immediately, or hold onto it for the near future and then turn it into a profit.

Really, sell it on eBay and buy yourself something nice. Dedication has certainly paid off in a big way, congrats OP! :)
