I was strolling through my local Fred Meyer (in Tacoma, WA) when I noticed these flyers all over the electronics section. So if you are gonna crack and pay full price, might as well be here :D Sale will probably last til next week (just a guess).

My friend picked up X-Men Legends for $39.99+tax and I got Ninja Five-O for $23.99+tax 8)

I noticed that as well. It was off all games in store, no clue why not online.
 
I probably wouldn't order something that's backordered. They charge your card immediately and seeing as they are listed discontinued games as "backordered", you may never see them.
 
What's that RPG from atlus that's coming out 10/6 called again? If they have the limited edition one I might have to get it. I think it was shin something something.

i just got back from Fred Meyer. Found Dual Hearts for PS2, it was $24 after the discount. Anyone played this? It's an Atlus game and I've never seen it before, so I picked it up.
 
Okay so let me get this straight, is the discount is on the games already online or is it applied on checkout?

...Also a lot of these games are listed as being on back order. :(

Decent little action RPG. I regret no getting it at BB when it was $20. It's getting harder to find now, considering it was never around in great numbers.
 
I saw the ad for 20% off games just today in the paper. But I thought it was only for the games listed. I got a Freddies in a mile in every direction from me, so I got a lot of places to hit.

I think the sale ends this Saturday, based on regular ad behavior.

I can only get to it on Friday, cause thats when I actually HAVE money. CC cleared me out yesterday. Heh.

Its an okay game... I rented it once, and thought it was decent (I didn't get very far into the game, though). Its hard to find, but I'm not sure if I would be willing to be $24 for it.
 
My order shipped. I don't know how they managed to ship the game with the pad via media mail, but that's how it shipped. Mail fraud, isn't it wonderful...

Sale is through this Saturday. Fred Meyer is a retail chain in the northwest and midwest (i believe) They are kind of like Target, only they also sell groceries. They are a major chain, so I'm sure ordering from their website is plenty safe.
 
First off... thanks for the thread. I live in Tacoma, but handn't heard about the sale till I came here.

Actually had read about it the other day, and kinda ignored it. But I was thinking of getting Donkey Konga, and wanted a deal. Saw Fry's might have it for $40, and though about making the drive. But I saw the Freddy's deal again, and thought "gee, if they have any...".

So I called them and they had 5 in stock, besides confirming the sale. While the game and controller run up at $50, the gal took $10 off at the register, and I got it for $40 without 70 miles of driving! And I was able to get the battery replaced in my Fossil watch at the Jewelry dept., so I killed 2 birds with one stone. Bad saying to use on the day the family cat got put down...

ANYWAY... thanks to you all for post about deal! Really appreciated it!!!
 
I just got back from my local Fred Meyer where no amount of convincing could get me the 20% off on Donkey Konga. Apparently it's listed under "hardware" and doesn't qualify for the discount despite including the software as well. :?
 
I too tried to get Konga tonight and they said it was an accessory and not a video game software package. I will probably check again tomorrow and see if I can get the discount. I would understand if it was for just the Bongos, but this is the only way to get the game since it isn't offered alone. Keep you posted if things work out.
 
after class today i was able to go up to there and got kotor for $16. it was the last one that wasnt in platnium hits case. now i just need to find time to play it but i will probably have to wait until the weekend. thanks for the heads up on this sale op.

That is exactly what I did. I didn't know about the sale until I got there.

The bad news is, for some reason my Fred Meyer decided to put glass up so you can't actually touch the games (this way they stay in order, even though they are still in theft-proof cases behind the glass!!!!).

Now with the price list I can go back and really get some games!

You can get it preowned from Gamestop B&M fairly easily for 15 bucks. With the coupon from game informer and your card it becomes 12 bucks so that's always an option.
