Fred Meyer 50% off all Clearance Games YMMV (Now w/partial list)

I was in my local FM today and saw that newly posted "50% off all clearanced titles" coupons taped on the racks of clearanced games. Now, FM has only idiots making up clearance prices for video games - Fatal Frame 1 for XB is $49.97 clearanced, $49.99 normally for instance - but if you were lucky enough to stumble on a Gallop Racer 03 or 04 or something else of decent value, then it might be worth a look.

Probably will lead CAGers to dead-ends, but I am sure someone out there will find something worthwhile and if you are like me and shop their normally for food and such, it doesn't hurt to look, and sometimes laugh, at the prices. ^_^

Very interesting - well, this gives me something to do after I get my fillings tommorow. There's a Fred Meyer right near my dentist :D.
 
my FM here in mill creek had the 50% off about two weeks. everything is quadrople the price everywhere else has it, then when you applied the 50% off, it was only pduble. Awesome!
 
Picked up POP:WW (Gamecube) for $8 at the Fred Meyer's in Redmond today on the 50% off clearance deal. They had a lot of good deals, but one must sift through the chaff.
 
I went to 3 Fred Meyer in the Portland area today and 2 of the 3 had tables right out in the front of the electronics sections with stacks of clearance games, each with a 50% off coupon taped to them.


My local FM, on the other hand, had a pathetic section. They did have 2 Ikaruga for about $30-$40 there several weeks ago (they had been there for months) but they weren't there last time I looked either. I definitely would have picked that up at the 50% off.

I did get Darkstalkers Chronicles for PSP for $14.98. This is notable in that it is the first time I have ever seen a PSP game on clearance. I'm wondering if they had anything else (I'm still hoping to get Ape Escape cheap one of these days). I only saw the one copy. I didn't see any DS games. Some other notable prices: Gradius V is $12.48, G1 Jockey 3 (which I hear is somewhat hard to find though not as much as Gallop Racer) is $12.48, and a bunch of old sports games are anywhere from $10-$20 :D.

I also saw TMNT Battle Nexus for GC for about $8.50 after discount - I didn't pick it up but am tempted.
 
Sure, there have been a few good deals at this sale, but here's a typical Fred Meyer "clearance": La Pucelle Tactics, marked down to $44.95 (so $22.49 after the 50% off). I'm gonna buy 'em all and bury them in the back yard until they become valuable :D.

And has anybody seen any Fatal Frame 1's for the Xbox. I've seen several Fatal Frame 2's (xbox version) for 29.99, but they lack the little red sticker which would let you get clearance price.

I've seen La Pucelle & Phantom Brave around, and I'm upset with myself because I picked them up at full price a year ago. Darn cheapass mentality.

Lately, I've really been itching for Shadow of the Collossus, but I can't bring myself to pick it up until it gets just a teensy bit cheaper.
 
If someone can grab me a Darkstalkesr for the PSP I'l probably be able to trade you something from the KB Sale. Our Stores are pretty stocked around here.

9.99 fatal frame xbox in lynnwood, wa. The seal is torn tho but the side seal is still intact.

Thanks, but that's too far to drive. If anybody's seen one (or even the second one marked as a clearance game) in the Portland area, I would be most grateful.

I was pretty lucky and picked up Otogi ($12), Pinball of the Dead ($8.50), Kirby & the Amazing Mirror $13 (still looking for Nightmare in Dreamland) and Silhouette Mirage $7.50 (which I'll probably take back after I looked at the reviews).
 
Update: Picked up Warioware & F-Zero Maximum Velocity for GBA.

I saw a couple copies of Gallop Racer 2003. If anybody is interested in trade, I'll pick a couple up.

At one Fred Meyer they had DK Standalone Bongo's marked for 14.99 on clearance, however the cashier wouldn't let me use the coupon because it did not contain the game, also unfortunate, Jungle Beat & Donkey Konga were not clearance. YMMV though on the stand-alone bongos.

Seriously, I've had better luck with this clearance than with others because so few people check Fred Meyer. One store I went to still had copies of Ninja Five-O (which is an awesome action game for the GBA) and a month or two ago I picked up Bangai-O for the Dreamcast. They need to do this 50% off sale more often.
