Unfortunately (for those in NYC attending this event), Dwight will not be there in person. He's attending via live satellite feed.

I apparently can't post a link since I'm a newbie here.
The info about the event is on Dwight's website (Dwight howard dot com). It's in his blog.

Pretty much. By tomorrow morning you can expect more than 100 people lined up at the NBA store. Good luck for those attending.

Oi...the hours that one might have to stand in line to maybe get a $60 game isn't worth it. Good luck to any CAGer's, hope you're one of the 100.

They should give out $5 off rebates or something or even promo codes for all that attend (while supplies last) towards the game.
If you could get a friend to wait on line with you, you could get 2 copies of the game and then trade it in to Gamestop to get Brutal Legend for $20!!!!!

SWEET!!!!
You can't trade in multiple copies of the same game at GS, according to their policy. Although some stores do it, but a big YMMV on that.

Sorry but even if you guys lived in NYC none of you would have had a chance. The NBA store is in Times Square. There are literally hundreds of thousands of people who walk past that store everyday.

the nba store isnt in Times Square. it was on 5th ave and 53rd. i wanted to go this morning too but i 4got to wake up

Ok so it's 10 blocks north of Time Square and it's right near central park and 30 Rock. Hundreds of thousands of people are in that area.

Very cool, but this should be in regional deals... since it's ONLY available in NYC. Isn't it almost more of a contest/free stuff than a "deal"?

[apologizes for Nit-picking]

There were 116 people on line 2 hours before the store opened. The first four people actually camped out which is ridiculous. I still got my free game, t-shirt, and towel though. That and, to top it all off, I got to meet my favorite Knicks player, David Lee :D.
Getting a game for free is great, but having to meet a NY Knicks player kind of kills the deal.
I would have said the same thing if Eddy Curry and Jared Jeffries ( oddly enough I've met at one of my local Gamestops ) were there, but David Lee is the man and his play the last couple years are the few bright spots for the Knicks.

So yeah, keep on hating ;)

Very nice to those who got a free game, but camping out in wee hours of the morning is not that great of a deal unless you make minimum wage.

David Lee is a double-double machine. People should know by now not to fuck with the Lee. And if JJ was there, they could have run a contest where one person gets a free copy for every long-range shot he misses until he hits one. Would have ended up handing up hundreds of copies, though.

Somebody really doesn't like JJ.

Dude, have you seen the first Knicks preseason game? Jeffries was knocking down long twos and threes like crazy. He worked on his jumper during the off season so now he can maybe convince himself he's worth the retarded contract Isiah gave him.

But no seriously, he can hit jumpers now lol.
