Hey all,

Just letting everyone know that for a limited time the Elite(Xbox 360) and Obsidian(Playstation 3) upgraded Dead Space suits will be available for FREE.

I can only confirm the Elite suit as I only have an Xbox 360, as well I am unaware of how long these will be available for download edit: they should be available until 10/29.

The suits are or should be located in there appropriate game folders on XBLM and PSN market.

90 seconds of air threshold
10% armor shell (could be as high as 20%?)

Of course it's news, lol. Now I don't have to pick the game up on launch anymore. I figured you'd only be able to get the suits through in-game menus that would allow you to download from the marketplaces.
 
Exactly. Thanks! I got both suits, now I can wait for a deal. Might put "game purchase not needed" in title to reflect how good this is.

This is apparently only for Gold users as of right now. I just tried to download with my silver membership and it was locked out like new demos are. I'm guessing it will be available to all in a week.

yeah I'd assume your correct. Keep your fingers crossed if you're really interested in the suit.
 
I can confirm the PS3 version is free of charge and available for download. I believe I got it last week with the newest releases on the PSN network.

What can I do with the suit if I don't purchase or rent the game? Does it work in the demo?

You can download the suit(s) now, and buy the game later, when it's cheaper.

Although I still never would have brought the game early just to get the suit, I now don't even have to worry about missing a piece of the game when I buy it cheaper. Thanks for the info OP.

The only way I know of acquiring the Scorpion suit is via the Gamestop Preorder.

What I meant to say is that the only way to get it for free is through the Gamestop pre-order. I am fully aware of the cost of it, I should know it's the 200 point suit right above the Free elite suit.

OK. So level four is the highest in game. You can only get five (scorpion) for pre-order or purchase.

EDIT: never mind, just got the level 5 schematics.
 
Well, since this was bumped I might as well add that this is now available for Silver members as well, so you might as well download this now while it's free.

Go to any Store within the game and it should be available to buy for free.
 
heh, really have no idea if silver members can get it, but this has been around for awhile so it is a safe bet.

as stated in the title you do not have to currently own the game to take advantage of the free suit.

My previous post was me confirming it's available. I downloaded it this morning on my Silver account. Now, I just need to work through my gamefly backlog and finally get around to playing Dead Space.
