Free Gears of War 2 Premium Themes (Bare Your Teeth & Hope Runs Deep)

If you downloaded the free 'Bare Your Teeth' and 'Hope Runs Deep' themes a while back, you can download the premium versions of these themes for free. If you look for them in the marketplace, they are no longer there; only the premium themes that cost 250 microsoft points each.

First, delete both themes from your harddrive/memory unit then look for them in you Download History (My Xbox > Manage Account > Download History) and simply download them again. You'll notice these themes are much bigger in size than the original ones. They will not be labeled with 'premium' but they really are. Looks like MS replaced the old themes files with the premium themes.

Please let me know if this works. I tried it myself and it does but I just want to make sure it works for everyone else. Remember this only works if you downloaded the regular 'Bare Your Teeth' and 'Hope Runs Deep' themes when they were free.

I tried it for the one that's free. To be honest, I don't see much of a difference. And all these stupid themes should be free. They should be an insentive to log on to their networks, and download all these content we are already paying for.
 
Don't have Bare Your Teeth, but the other one worked. Thanks for the heads up. I agree though, not a huge difference. Still shows only half of the picture.
 
They are the premium themes. And look at your download history and download Bare Your Teeth from there.

Yeah not a huge difference but still nice.
 
Bare your teeth were not listed in my download history and O deleted before checking, I got one upgraded, but the other was sadely lost forever
 
Thanks. I now have 4 NXE themes for Gears 2. I don't know which one I like better, Hope Runs Deep, or the Gamestop theme.

Thanks man, it's an interesting find say to least. It took me a bit to find Bare Your Teeth on my download history, because I got it before I changed consoles, and alot of stuff got pushed around in my order. It ended up being item 320 of 513. Thankfully Hope Runs Deep was released sooner so I found it much higher on my list.

Again, an interesting find. And a neat way to a: Save 500 MSP, and b: Get more use out of a previous download.
 
Thanks for the tip. Though, since you guys are saying it's not a big difference, but that it is much bigger, I'm debating on whether it is worth it. Are there cool things behind the friends on your friends list or something?

It's worth it, you have gear vehicles behind your friend's on the friend blade. Eat the rainbow, and notice the difference! ;)

i noticed that the old themes already had the premium friends list background when i switched to them

Bare your Teeth 2MB is now 8.87MB
Hope Runs Deep 5MB is now 13.03MB

but then i went ahead and deleted it and downloaded them again with the new sizes, i'll see if there's any differences

Yah I actually did that by accident this morning lol. And to my surprise my theme got an upgrade. My friend list now has Gears backgrounds instead of standard Xbox ones and the background image is centered better. A nice little addition. Didn't get the Bare Your Teeth theme however.
