Free How to Tie a Tie Video?

So I need to figure out how to tie a necktie. I've never had to before except my prom, which someone did it for me...I figure oh, this is the day of the internet, how hard will this be.

To my surprise there's tons of sites out there that show very vague diagrams then say, if you're still confused buy my video for $17.95 + $5.95 shipping.

Yeah, right....

Anyone know where I can find a video on how to tie the easiest knot (Full Windsor) that doesn't cost me money or force me to wait a few days?

I don't know where to get a video but just ask any dude around you and he should be able to teach you.

So all 3 of those links provided in post 2 are diagrams and they charge for the video. But thakns for trying.

That's not what I was eluding to. I wasnt sure if a mod would get pissed at me for posting a link on how to tie your own noose, thats all. Im far from self centered... sorry if it seemed like that.
 
Damn, what the hell is wrong with everyone? So the guy needs a video to help with a tie. I had the same exact problem when I tried to get a windsor knot going. The online diagrams didn't do shit for me because I wasn't able to wrap my head around them. So what if he couldn't understand it? No need for the "OMFG Ur teh retard!!!11!" Different people learn in different ways.

Sorry Alive741, I don't have any video to help but good luck finding one.
 
I remember when I first started going to ska shows and inferno shows that fixing my tie into the good old double windsor was a 20 minute task. But with some practice and internet diagrams it now takes me...a minute if not less....a video for that sort of task seems pointless to me.
 
If you need a video, stick with a half windsor or four-in-hand knot. Plus, personally, you only need a full windsor if you are wearing spread collar shirts, otherwise its just too much knot and looks stupid.
 
I still don't really know how to tie a tie.

I mean my dad has shown me and I have had other people help me. But I don't do it so often that it just gets lost in the part of my brain that forgets things, it goes with peoples phone numbers and songs that I try to get out of my head.

No biggie wanting a video to help. Why not?

If he was willing to PAY for the video, then you guys could of whined and made fun. But he wants it for free.
 
It's not surprising how many guys really don't know how to tie a tie properly and look stupid wearing one. Either the tie hangs too high/low on their body, or the knot itself is too large or appears pinheaded.
Properly untying is equally important if you have a nice tie you don't want to destroy.

I would guess 70-80% of all guys would fail if asked to demonstrate properly the 4 majors ties (not even including bowties).

Still, when I was little the rhyme "under, over, around and through, tie-tying's fun when you know what to do" helped learn the basic form.
