FREE iPod Shuffle MP3 player (legit!)

CAGiversary!
Citibank is running another one of its credit-card promotions. This time for a free iPod Shuffle. This is no e-mail come-on or scam.

Here are the particulars:

Citibank offers a free iPod shuffle 512MB MP3 player when you sign up for a Citibank Professional Credit Card. To qualify for this promotion, you must spend a minimum of $500 on purchases within the first three months. The iPod shuffle will be shipped within 90 days of the statement period in which the purchase requirement is met.

Here's the link. Again, this is no scam (and, no, I don't work for Citibank):
$500.....
That's not too much. Just have your parents pay their bills with your card and have them give you the cash for it. My parents house payment is 1k a month. I hope this really works cause it is not a bad deal.

They did something similar with an ipod mini and a bank acount thing. I signed up on January 23, and still no mini. I called them and they said it would come within two weeks. So if you sign up for this, don't expect to get your shuffle quickly.Also...

"If a sufficient number of iPod shuffles are not available to it, Citibank reserves the right to satisfy its obligation under this Offer by providing an alternative $100 value to the cardmember."

so you may not even get an ipod shuffle.

Yeh, wait long enough and anything can happen. That's why you're getting the head's up.

I had a card offer that offered a Dell PC as long as there was a certain amount of balance within 7 months after the 7 months they send you a dell desktop pc, with a printer i think. I'll have to check to see if I still have it

Not to mention having an extra credit card show up on your credit report (aka not good)
I'd just save up the $100 and get it the straight forward way

This is one of those deals that it's only useful if you were already looking for a credit card to make a large purchase or a series of smaller ones.

Otherwise, spending 500 bucks to get a $100 item just doesn't hack it.:bomb:

Well, considering it lasts for 90 days, its good for groceries to say the least - $50 every week here.

Also gives me a reason to spend (for my parents to spend anyways)
