Well I just got my mail and included in it was flyer from AT&T saying that I get get a free ringtone!

Well it appears that anyone can get this, just follow these steps:

Go to www.att.com/wirelesswelcome

Then towards the bottom click "Get My Free Ringtone" or something like that.

Enter your Wireless number and then you get a code for a free ringtone!

I pretty sure it will work for anyone, but if it doesn't work for you, let me know.

I got the message saying "This wireless number was already issued a free ringtone." I then proceeded to the site it provided and tried out the coupon code, says it was invalid. Oh well. I can make my own ringtones. Thanks anyway.

Have you already done a deal like this before?

There was one back in December, which I did, making my code invalid - guess it goes to show how greedy the phone companies are about ringtones that people can make themselves for no fee whatsoever - provided they have the proper data plan to send small mp3 files to their phones, though, which I do, in lieu of a massive text messaging plan, which I think is a stupid concept.

It's a phone. Press the buttons so you can hear my voice, not so you can do what you do at the computer already.

Anyway, yeah, if anyone got the one from December, this probably won't work.

And it says I am not eligible...oh well.[/quote]

Same. And I get more personalized, better ringtones as a result.

I got a coupon and used it. It was a bit shady with the coupon though. They don't let you know if its gonna work or not till its done. I think I'd die if I got charged 2.50 for a :13 low quality audio clip.

So when I enter the coupon code and enter thank you it means it is free right? It doesn't charge to my phone statement right? After I entered the prepaid code it never said anything about it working but it never asked for a credit card number.

thanks OP. i knew about this but never got around to doing it. and their selection isnt that good in the rock area but i managed to find one i liked

No, it shouldn't charge your bill at all.
