A couple of recommendations:

Sun of Suns by Karl Schroeder is hard science fiction *and* swashbuckling adventure. My personal pick. Totally awesome. But heads up: it's the first in a series.

And Tobias Buckell was just up for a Nebula award for that novel I believe: I haven't read it, but I'm sure it was nominated for good reason.

I was confused for a moment, but then I realized that the dinosaur-riding, half-cyborg civil war captain cavalry mount from Turok: Evolution was in fact Tobias Bruckner and not Tobias Buckell.

Oh, I would have read the book he wrote, for sure.

Is there any chance people who downloaded them would be able to send them to me? I missed it (just found this post today) and would really have loved to download them.
