free snes nes and gbc YMMV (BIG TIME) WARNING YMMV YMMV YMMV

poypoy

CAGiversary!
i went to gamestop and they were giving free gameboy color and snes and nes games, because they had to get them out of stock your ymmv each person could only get 1 game so i got conker pocket it is so old and stinks the game sucks

That's a little tough to believe. NES and SNES could be plausible - most Gamestop stores in my area that still have them are down to the cream of the crap (Madden carts with ripped labels and the like). But Gameboy color? With the GBA's backward compatiblity, it's hard to see why GS would want to get rid of those.
there are no old school games left at any of the gamestops near me, havent had any for months.
There are a few gamestops in my area. A new one opened up about 20 minutes from me. The guy at the one closest to me told me all the old school games were sent from the area stores to the new store. I went to the new store and to my suprise they had what appeared to be at least 3,000+ games. This may be the case in other areas to. Call your local store and ask.

If it is, then I'm sure it's not a nation-wide thing. Assuming we can believe poypoy (and I'm not saying that we don't), it was probably just that one store. Couldn't hurt to try though. B)

I called one in Rockville, MD and was embarassed to ask. I got a very polite "No, sir" followed by some chuckling.

Same here. The oldest systmes they still have games for at my local Gamestop is the N64 and the Playstation.

I stopped in a Gamestop Sunday (7/25/04) looking for SNES or NES games specifically. The manager stated they got rid of them all in Feburary (2004). He also mentioned that GameCrazy was the only place in town that dealt with SNES/NES games in the area (St. Cloud, MN).

Side Note- The Gamestop DID still carry old gameboy and gameboy color games.

i went to my gamestop last week, to get 1cent guides, oldest stuff they had was n64/playstation, they had a ton more dvd's though. don't care. they still had all gameboy stuff though.

i work at a gamestop and can tell you for a fact that they would not be just giving away games like that. Select stores still sell NES, SNES, Genesis and all the older system games and when they get ride of them they send them to another store not just give them to customers for free.

I hate to be the one to bring this up, but who in the world would try to get off on lying about getting a free Conker's Pocket Quest game? That would really just be the saddest lie ever.

i went to one in bel air, md today....not knowing about this....the guy working was extremely nice (compared to the usual workers) and he didnt inform me on htis deal at all...im assuming its bullshit....or if its true, the employees did the smart thing and kept the games as an added perk....after all, its not a "sale," its a supposed get these games the hell outta here
it was a gamestop in florida
Mind telling us where exactly in Florida this was since there are quite a few of us CAGs, myself included, all around the state. Saying that it was a Gamestop in Florida did not show one bit of credibility and tips the scale to the "this is bullshit" side.
