The game was planned and written by someone else, who isn't involved with the show. He ran it by Lindelof and Cuse, who suggested a new ending, which the game uses. Lindelof and Cuse have stated that the game is NOT canonical.
 
Good to know - still more Lost for those who want it. We picked up an extra copy for ourselves. I rented the game and sent it back unfinished awhile ago, but now I want to see it through!
