The newest Wal-Mart ad is advertising a Wal-Mart exclusive combo pack, which included the Frozen Blu Ray Combo pack with either an Elsa or Anna Infinity figure for $21.99. The Infinity figures alone usually cost between $10-13, and even if you don't own the game, the figures themselves are nice enough looking to be worthy of display, though finding this in-store might be harder than steel(book Thor).

Does anyone know what time Walmart starts selling things like this?  Should I be standing there waiting at 12:01 AM or is it some point in the morning?

I wonder if this is one of those you have to be there at midnight to get one kind of deals.

I know when they did this with Monsters University they still had copies a few days after but I know anything "Frozen" related is a hot property right now.

I'm still thinking a 3-D import is better, but if I go and this is on the shelf, it will be very hard for me to resist, especially since the import has no digital copy, and DMR points that are useless to us (especially since they will most likely do double points for this - they have for every major (and not so major) new release so far).

I would imagine so. I really just want it so I can sell the figure for a few bucks and get the movie for my kid at a price that's easier for me to stomach than $20.

I want to do it the other way get two sets for the figures and sell the extra movie for like $18.

The Anna bundle is still available for pre-order online and says it should arrive by Friday with free shipping.  Wonder if they would let me return/rebuy it or get a price adjustment.  If I'm only getting one I would rather grab the Else since the figure is in higher demand but either is better than none if I can get the lower price.

Still haven't been able to find an answer of what time Walmart sells new releases like this.

You should be able to get it the following morning if it goes on sale at midnight. It's a school night, so the kids won't be showing up, and most of their parents have work the following morning and would probably go to pick it up after they get off work. That leaves teens and young adults, but Walmart's never had a movie sell out on release night in my experience, not even the Hunger Games or Twilight.

Maybe, but the Thor Steelbooks sold out within minutes of opening, and this movie has a far broader audience than Thor (and consists of way more than children and parents). Also, there are many families who have at least one parent not working, and would love to brighten their children's lives, and distract them, however briefly, from the deprivation they suffer from being in a single income household.

That, and Elsa Infinity figures are cooler than Steelbooks (unless it's the Frozen Steelbook, which THEY'RE NOT SELLING HERE!).

I have both these figures as I'm a fan of Infinity, and I have to say these figures are amazing, especially the Elsa, which is gorgeous. It's a great display piece too. I see these selling out immediately. I'm getting Frozen from Best Buy for their exclusive notebook and plan on being there before they open. Sure, it's not the Thor steelbook, but I missed that and was really upset, and I'm not missing this one.

Any new release can be bought as soon as it turns 12 midnight. The store I work at, my friend in electronics goes to break at 12 though so most are not out till 12:15 or so, but if anyone asks for them he gets it before we go though.

Exact same figures. The only current way to get them is in the two pack, although they will eventually be sold individually.

As most people have said, they can sell you these after midnight, but I've known Walmarts that won't sell new releases until the morning.

You seem to underestimate what the people who will literally buy their entire stock of a limited edition item to resell will do. Frozen is hot and people do weird things like pay above MSRP for these figures when they're new (even though you can find them at most stores). This is the best chance to get the movie for my kid for about $10 so I would rather go out late than miss it.

Thank you. Will head there tonight then.

Is the figure the same one you can find on shelves or is it some sort of variant?
Yep.

They're actually both out already by themselves.

It's just been my experience that this stuff doesn't sell out very fast where I live. I do live in a poor ex-factory town where most people blow their money at the casino, so that might be why.

El Hoardo seems to congregate in Muncie and Noblesville, sparing our neck of the woods for the most part.

Well yeah, the area obviously makes a difference.  Elsa is back in stock to pre-order on Walmart.com so still wondering if anyone knows if I just go that route on Friday and take them back to the store if they'll let me return/rebuy them at the sale price?

YMMV.

If you receive them this week, you can return them, but the store might refuse to sell them back. Something about holding returns from the website. It's probably the exception rather than the rule.

On the other hand, Wal-Mart could raise the price in-store before you get them from the website, which means the rebuy would be at then-current pricing.

Well yeah, the big if is them delivering by the date it's promised. Worst case scenario either way I return them and it's more of a backup plan anyway.

FYI there's also a $5 off a Disney Blu-Ray that should stack with this.  You have to buy three boxes of Kelloggs Disney fruit snacks (with the promotion on them obviously) then enter the codes on the website.  Coupon comes in a few minutes to your email.  It cost about $10 for the fruit snacks so it's not worth it on it's own but if you've got kids or will eat them then it's worth it if you would be spending the money anyway.

https://www.kelloggsfamilyrewards.com/en_US/promotions/disney-fruit-snacks-5-dollars-off-blu-ray-coupon-offer.html

Edit- If the store you go to is anything like the Kroger I went to then the ones with the codes for the coupons are probably going to be way at the back since they seem to be newer stock.

Is it somehow confirmed that you can use the coupon on Frozen? I'm going to the store later tonight and I would get the fruit snacks if I could use the coupon

The coupon says any Disney Blu Ray and when you print it out actually has a picture of Frozen on it.

About to leave for Walmart. Hope I don't get killed by the drunks and ice.

Well I just got home from Wal-Mart and they only had 4 of the combo pack with the infinity figure, 2 for Anna and 2 for Elsa. Really happy I went at midnight and waited around for it because in the morning there probably won't be any left. I just wanted top give ppl a heads up and good luck

Agreed, the store I went to only had two total. $5 off coupon worked just fine on it.

Also scored an Arkham Origins CE for $50 so it was a half hour trip well worth it.

Holy crap they're even selling out fast here 0_0 I barely got an Elsa one. People must have gotten lucky at the slot machines last night. May the odds be ever in your favor.

I was only the second person there waiting at midnight which surprised my since it's generally a very busy store. As I was leaving to head up towards the registers I heard people behind me asking the clerk if they had more. I wonder if it St. Patty's didn't keep some of the people away (either imbibing or wanting to stay off the roads).

No go at mine they were gone at 12:01 last night. I did find a pizza crust in the grocery department that has a $3 peel off coupon for the movie so off to tru I go with that.

I stopped by a smaller market Wal-Mart this morning at like 6:45am and they had one each of the gift sets.  I grabbed the Elsa one.  They were located on a display at the front of the store.

My two local walmarts got 4 total (2 of each character). Both are OOS now. I was able to get the Elsa combo pack.

I figured they'd have at least 10 (5 of each) but whatever. Good price though for the bundle

TRU is a good deal for those looking for the just the movie or the movie and the 2 figures.  Total for me, just the movie, was $6.69 using the pirate fairy preorder card and $5 coupon.  Then if you wanted the figures TRU has a 2 for $18 promo right now so total would be around $25+tax.  However it did take a price override to get the pirate fairy $10 off to work.

Is the $5 coupon a Disney Movie Rewards (DMR) coupon?

I know they should stack with the preorder promotions that TRU does by my store is amazingly strict with coupons

No it is a Kellogs Fruit Snacks coupon. You have to buy 3 specially marked boxes of fruit snacks (cost me just over $5 for all 3 since I got them on sale also). So the coupon is only worth it if you like fruit snacks or need to buy them anyway. It is a manufacturer's coupon though so it should stack unless like you said you have strict employees who won't allow it.

You're supposed to, by rule, be able to do one store and one manufacturer coupon but apparently a few employees in my managers district were disciplined and others fired for purposely being too liberal with coupons so now they've tightened everything up.

I ended up getting it at tru for $7.99 after a $3 pizza crust coupon and the Pirates movie preorder. I also got the two characters for $18 so for around $23 after a $5 rewards I got a much better deal than walmarts.

No go at my walmart. Got there at 7 (they open at 6) and they could find it. Had the manager come out and he said since they didnt have a shelf place with a tag on it, they wouldnt be carrying it. Inmediately called the next closest Wally and the clerk must have answered the question a lot because she immediately says no when i asked if they carried them. Looks like I'll just get it at Target for the bonus disc

Expand on the fairy preorder for me?
TRU has preorder cards that when you buy any other Disney Blu-ray priced $19.99 or more with that preorder card then you are supposed to get $10 off that other Disney Blu-ray. However this does require a price override because it does not happen automatically, I thought it did in the past but that was a couple years ago. So because it doesn't come off automatically you may have to argue to get the $10 off.

The cards were located on the side on an endcap of the movie section in my store.

So put $20 on fairy man and I'll possibly get $10 off?

I only ask because I thought they've done this before, maybe for Jungle Book as well. It only had to be like a $1 preorder.

Snagged an Elsa one this morning.  Glad I saw this thread, I would have ended up getting a regular copy.  My store had 4 Elsa and 2 Annas left.  The Anna ones were on a kiosk near the front and the Elsa ones were back with the movies.

No more like spend a $1 to get $10 off.
Why aren't the preorder cards working automatically? I was able to get Frozen CE Blu-ray from TRU for ~ $9.99 after a friendly manager override (there is one female employee there who is sweet on me---rest are strict as hell).

Is it not working becuase it's a new release? Or is it not working because it's already on sale? The same thing happened for the Jungle book blu-ray release and the preorder cards don't have any exclusions; just that the movie has to be $19.99 or more

I don't know how many mine had, but the electronics clerk had it behind her counter. Went a little after midnight, since I was still up. Picked up an Anna. They had an Elsa left, at least, and I assume someone was there before me to buy them as well, since she knew immediately what I was talking about, and had them on hand.

I will probably sell the figure, cause I don't really like how her figure looks (and I don't want to get Infinity cause of how many Skylanders I picked up before). Probably should have researched it more before I picked Anna over Elsa.

If you've seen the movie, you'll know Elsa is better than Anna: she's better looking, has a more interesting personality, better singing voice (there's an actress who's not Kristen Belle who is suspiciously credited with "Anna (Singing)"), and cool powers (they had to grant the Infinity Anna the power of: a shovel). The Infinity figure also has a much cooler pose. No further research is needed.

Infinity figure or Import? It was a tough decision, but WM made it easy by not having the Infinity figures. Many years from now, when I can afford a 3-D TV, and I'm watching it in glorious 3-D, I'll be thanking WM, and pitying the poor suckers who have to continue to watch it the cave man way, or had to shell out for a second set (though outside of the home, they'll be able to laugh at me as they watch it on their Ipads because they have digital copies and I don't.

Personality...in the game? If you're talking about the movie, I'm going to have to strongly disagree. Anna's personality is way more appealing than Elsa's personality.
