Frys online Price matching is a Joke. Don't bother

CAGiversary!
So I went in today to price match the Guitar Hero warriors of rock that Amazon had on sale. It was a 20 dollar difference at Frys. Ok so it took 30 minutes and like 10 different guys. They did everything possible to not price match. I mean the actual Store Manager had to approve 20 dollars! Then to top it off they wanted to charge me the expedited shipping that Amazon offers. I told them I always use the free shipping(the game was 29 dollars so it qualified for free shipping. So in the in I told them their policy was a joke and did not buy the game or the other 3 items I had went in for. I mean I was willing to pay tax but I am not paying for shipping I would not have used. So really the policy is a joke. Glad I was not trying to price match a 100 bucks of a Fridge or something.

This deal is a joke. I can't price match a thing. I shouldn't have bothered even clicking this thread.

Edit: Wow, this thread was moved rather rapidly. Absolutely awesome.

I am in the "Deal/Shopping Discussions" Forum right? Just wanted to spread the word and save others the trip. I was going there for other stuff and thought it was worth a shot. Sorry if I posted in wrong forumor something. Either way I think the title explained it pretty well.

Actually OP, I'll thank you for letting me know this, at least.

When I read about Fry's online pricematch policy in their ad a couple of weeks ago (no doubt in order to complete with other brick and mortar retailers with similar policies recently instituted - mainly Target, WalMart, and Best Buy), I was excited at first.

Then I realized what a hassle it is to get even a straightforward pricematch from Fry's. Not to mention, the 10% tax. Since I'd only ever be PMing Amazon prices, it's simply not worth the bother.

Originally you weren't. You posted in the Video Game Deals forum where the rule is "DO NOT CREATE THREADS TO ASK A QUESTION. ONLY POST SPECIFIC VIDEO GAME DEALS!"

A mod was nice and moved this thread to the correct forum instead of closing or deleting it.

Sorry about that. Meant to post it here. Thanks to the OP that moved it. Sometime we all make mistakes. I will probably go back for price matches in the future just so I can waste the managers time lol.

Frys customer service blows, good deals for a B&M, but if you can't get in on a deal don't even bother with a rain check or ask a manager to help you. You'll just be waisting your time.

Honestly service at Fry's is just horrible. I see employees standing around all the time at my old local Fry's chatting away, I knew a guy from HS who ended up working there and he told me that all he did was stand around all day. I tried looking for a digital photo frame as a gift one year, and tried getting someone to get one for me since they only had displays out, but after 30 minuetes of no service, I left. If you know what you want at Fry's, know its on the shelves, just go in, buy it and leave. If you plan to do anything that derives from this plan I would just avoid the place.

Actually the guy at the desk in the video game are was fairly helpful although he printed out like 30 pages from amazon to take to the manager. It went downhill from there. Made the guys at Best buy look like geniuses.
