Fun Questions I'd Like to Know the Anwers To

PittsburghAfterDark

CAGiversary!
1. What is the Democrat's strategy to stabilize Iraq and their plans for turning over security to Iraqi forces?

2. What are their plans for homeland security?

3. What are their plans for illegal immigration?

4. What are their plans to grow the economy?

5. What are their plans to ensure retirement incomes and plans for those under 30?

6. Where do they plan to deal with ununiformed enemy combatants if not to hold them for questioning or detention?

7. Why is a video game mod for an already M rated game worthy of the Senate's attention?

8. Why do people who haven't won a national majority in either house in 11 years or won the White House the past two elections think they have a say in selecting a Supreme Court justice when a Republican controlled Senate approved a Democrat Presidents nomination of a former ACLU General Counsel for the Supreme Court 83-17?

9. What are their plans for energy growth and independence?

10. Why do they think that a more important issue is Karl Rove than a bombing that killed 50+ civillians and wounded 700 more of our closest ally?

Responses for this Friday questionaire will no doubt be priceless and involve a lot of "REPUBLICANS BLAH BLAH BLAH.....", "BUSH SUCKS BLAH BLAH BLAH...." oh and a "Karl Rove spells his name with a K like the Klan so he's guilty.... BLAH BLAH BLAH."

So articulate what it is the party of "the people" intends on doing in these areas without using; Bush sucks or Republicans. Tell us what it is your party is for, not what it's against and what it criticizes. I anticipate a lot of cricket noises and birds chirping as I've not heard anything from any Democratic leader. Let's see if their supporters can tell us.

For number 2 and 3, look no further then Hillary Clinton who advocates more border control and cracking down on illegal immigration (Bush Jr is too in love with Walmart to take a stand)

Whether you agree or not, that's her stance.

As for 10, I tend to take charges of treason pretty seriously, especially when the accused is an integral part of the Whitehouse.

As for the rest, I'd like to have more answers too (and again - what's up with Dems and videogames  )
I'd like you to answer those same questions for Republicans (although I know you aren't one), just for kicks.
And we have exactly ONE respone! One response before someone mentions Republicans without articulating one firm answer.

Point proven.
And we have exactly ONE respone! One response before someone mentions Republicans without articulating one firm answer.

Well you did make a demand without giving anything in return. I think you should expect to be cross questioned.
The original post was whiney and argumentative, what do you expect?
The word is polemical.

P-o-l-e-m-i-c-a-l

Argumentative is such a stupid word.

Silly me, for thinking you were asking the question in good faith.

It's obvious that you were just trolling for low-hanging fruit.

PAD WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!

THOSE QUESTIONS WILL MAKE THE THESE RADICAL LIB'S HEADS EXPLODE!!!

Wait. In that case continue.
Silly me, for thinking you were asking the question in good faith.

*** WHISTLING PATIENTLY FOR ONE ANSWER ***
*** WHISTLING PATIENTLY FOR ONE ANSWER ***
Stop the jibber jabber, I gave you an answer, fool! :)

It's a problem for the Dems, most people agree that to be effective the Dems need a definitive stance on the majority of those issues, a new "Plan for America" if you will.

However on the Rove question, you are asking whether the enemy without is as important as the traitor within. I would argue that they are at least equal in importance.
1. What is the Democrat's strategy to stabilize Iraq and their plans for turning over security to Iraqi forces?
In a cursory look over the democrat's website, I don't see an answer to this specific question but back in the campaign I believe Kerry's goal was to get more countries involved in training Iraqis by opening up economic opportunities to more countries rather than limiting it to the dwindling Caolition of the Willing members. The plan was to put an international face on the occupying troops to diffuse the perception that America is acting empirically.
2. What are their plans for homeland security?

3. What are their plans for illegal immigration?
"Democrats are unwavering in our commitment to keep our nation safe. That's why we led the fight to create the Department of Homeland Security and continue to fight to ensure that our ports, nuclear and chemical plants, and other sensitive facilities are secured against attack.

Democrats support fair immigration reform that keeps our borders secure. Democrats are also united to ensure that the world's most dangerous weapons stay out of the hands of terrorists. We will expand the pace and scope of programs to eliminate and safeguard nuclear materials, enhance efforts to keep these and other deadly materials out of the hands of terrorists, and assist state and local governments in equipping and training those responsible for dealing with the effects of terrorist attacks involving weapons of mass destruction."
4. What are their plans to grow the economy?
"If you want job creation, a strong economy, and a fiscally responsible federal government, there's only one choice: vote for Democrats. History has proven that Democrats know what it takes to keep our economy growing.

Expanding economic opportunity. Democrats believe that the most effective means of increasing opportunity for our families is a high quality, good paying job. We are committed to expanding economic opportunity to all Americans and creating the new jobs of the future.
Fiscal responsibility. The Democratic Party believes in balanced budgets and paying down our national debt, while Republicans continue to put huge burdens on future generations by borrowing hundreds of billions of dollars from foreign nations.
Fair trade. Creating jobs at home means opening markets abroad. The Democratic Party supports fair trade agreements that raise standards for workers abroad while making American business more competitive. We will also fight for stronger enforcement of our existing trade agreements."
5. What are their plans to ensure retirement incomes and plans for those under 30?
"Democrats believe that after a life of hard work, you earn a secure retirement. Our commitment to protecting the promise of Social Security is absolute. We will not allow anyone to endanger Social Security or take even a single step toward dismantling it. We are open to any and all ideas that ensure that the current and future generations of retirees receive the benefits they were promised without heaping trillions onto our national debt.

Democrats also recognize that Americans rely on more than just Social Security for a secure retirement. Democrats will continue to fight for genuine pension reform that protects working families from future Enron-style abuse. We also want to work on new ways to help hard-working Americans create retirement savings."
6. Where do they plan to deal with ununiformed enemy combatants if not to hold them for questioning or detention?
Who ever said they should not be detained and questioned? I think the question to Bush should be how long can these people be held without access to counsel and being brought to trial?
7. Why is a video game mod for an already M rated game worthy of the Senate's attention?
It's not. It's political posturing like the Terri Schiavo case and flag burning amendments.
8. Why do people who haven't won a national majority in either house in 11 years or won the White House the past two elections think they have a say in selecting a Supreme Court justice when a Republican controlled Senate approved a Democrat Presidents nomination of a former ACLU General Counsel for the Supreme Court 83-17?
Because, just like the Republicans, they were elected to represent their constituents. Supreme Court justices don't just govern the majority party, they serve all of us.
9. What are their plans for energy growth and independence?
See the answer to number 4.
10. Why do they think that a more important issue is Karl Rove than a bombing that killed 50+ civillians and wounded 700 more of our closest ally?
I don't recall anyone saying it is more important, but the British are handling the bombing investigation (and doing a damn fine job it seems). They grabbed a guy in Pakistan today. See what happens when you go looking for terrorists in the countries they came from?

The quotes are just copied and pasted from www.democrats.org so feel free to go there for more answers (although I know that isn't your real goal).

Now here's a question for you: When you like to crow so much about Republicans controlling all three brances of government, why do you feel it's necessary to imply that Democrats don't have any plans or ideas? Even if Democrats had a foolproof plan for Iraq, Social Security, Terrorism, etc., Republicans would never pass it. Democrats may not have all the right answers, but they do ask questions and don't act so arrogant that they can never be wrong or be challenged.

You mentioned why rove would be important, why did foxnews make this their headline news story when I checked their website yesterday?

Big Bird? Not in My Neighborhood
Thursday, July 14, 2005

GREENDALE, Wis. — A Big Bird (search) sculpture on the chimney of a duplex has ruffled a few feathers.

"It's obnoxious. It's unsightly, and I do truly feel it is hazardous at this point," neighbor Cynthia Leedale said, worried that someone may be rear-ended when they stop to look at the bird. "I feel like I'm living in a theme park."

But it is called art by Al Emmons (search), who built the sculpture with his family last fall after repairing the chimney at the duplex where he and his wife rent out two flats. He contends freedom of expression is at stake and it helps to cover pipes sticking out of the chimney.

The village's Plan Commission agreed Wednesday with Leedale and other neighbors who petitioned to have the bird removed. Commissioners praised Emmons' creativity, but cited concerns about maintaining historical integrity and following established guidelines.

They rejected a belated permit application on a 7-0 vote and the matter now goes to the full Village Board Tuesday.

Emmons applied for the permit after construction because he said he was not aware he needed one previously.

"I don't think anyone argues he's not a great artist," village president Scott Leonard (search), who is also the commission chairman, said of Emmons. "In this case, one man's bluebird of happiness is another man's 'Nightmare on Elm Street.' ... I wouldn't want to live next to it."

They had a pic up yesterday
1. What is the Democrat's strategy to stabilize Iraq and their plans for turning over security to Iraqi forces?
Dunno. This is a scenario that I depart with both parties on. I think we need to stay in Iraq until they can defend and govern themselves. This does not, in any way, change that I have always felt that going into Iraq was a horrendous mistake, and that the American people were swindled into thinking they were a threat and related to 9/11. In 10 years, will Iraq be better off than it was before we invaded? I sure hope so. That doesn't justify a goddamned thing, however.

2. What are their plans for homeland security?

http://www.democrats.org/a/2005/06/tell_president.php

"Hi! Remember me?"

3. What are their plans for illegal immigration?

Meh, both parties are total fucking ninnies in this regard, so what's your point?

4. What are their plans to grow the economy?

I thought the economy grew itself, slappy. Do you want the government to do everything for you? ;) I'd much prefer the Democrats focus on reducing the growing disparity between the wealthy and workers in the US ("the income gap," if you will). They seem centered on getting hard-ass on corporations (which I agree with, but isn't as high priority, IMO)

http://www.democrats.org/a/national/economic_growth/

5. What are their plans to ensure retirement incomes and plans for those under 30?

http://www.democrats.org/a/national/secure_retirement/ (Man, I'm getting lazy with these links, aren't I?)

Me? I'd bump up (double? triple? QUADRUPLE!?!?!?!?! MUHAHA!) the income taxable under FICA. And fuck you if you think you're getting more back, bub. If you don't want to pay so much in taxes, EARN LESS MONEY. 'taint hard to do.

6. Where do they plan to deal with ununiformed enemy combatants if not to hold them for questioning or detention?

That's not the issue that Dems have a problem with. It's not the location, it's the quality of the location, the treatment of people in the location, and the lack of charges put against people in these locations. If there is evidence to charge someone, then do it. If there is not, release them. That is the issue.

7. Why is a video game mod for an already M rated game worthy of the Senate's attention?

Why is gay marriage? Why is abortion? Why is steroids in baseball? Why is terrorism? Why are you surprised? Our government looks into aspects of our daily lives, and you're incredulous, aren't you? Although you may have posted this elsewhere (I think it was you), the "where are the parents?" argument, I mean. I agree with that, but I also think that the issue is far more complicated than just that. It's nothing more than an inquiry at this point, so what's the problem? (Other than, once again, sex is vastly more dangerous to kids than killing cops).

8. Why do people who haven't won a national majority in either house in 11 years or won the White House the past two elections think they have a say in selecting a Supreme Court justice when a Republican controlled Senate approved a Democrat Presidents nomination of a former ACLU General Counsel for the Supreme Court 83-17?

Because an administration that has been in power for (well, Clinton notwithstanding) 11 years has, in the past 5 years worth of judicial nominees, a 95% success rate of passage. Despite the fact that 197 of 205 Bush judicial nominees were approved without controversy, the Republicans claimed that the Democrats were "obstructionist." Now our administration has the "Janice Rogers Brown" precedent, where people legislating for corporations and little baby Jesus are considered to be less extreme than her, and thus passed easily. I sincerely wish you could point out some terrible, horrible things she did while at the ACLU, instead of merely placing her there. Tell me about all those terrible, horrible civil rights she tried to help keep in place for you.

IMO, let Bush nominate Pastor Robert J. Analfuck. Let him overturn Roe v. Wade. Your party will die. I look forward to it.

9. What are their plans for energy growth and independence?

   Good one, PAD. You almost got me.

10. Why do they think that a more important issue is Karl Rove than a bombing that killed 50+ civillians and wounded 700 more of our closest ally?

Why would you stand behind a person who ruined the life work of a CIA agent whose expertise was in antiproliferation? Why would you play such a bland obstructionist game? We can focus on the bombings (which happened in the United Kingdom which, from what I understand, is not a state) and get Rove's ass shitcanned at the same time.

I can walk, talk, and chew bubblegum at the same time as well. Be proud of me. We're multitaskin' motherfuckers, so we are. Jealous much?

I'll give you some questions, but now I've got to start dinner and run to the liquor store to find a cap for a carboy.

Scrubking, E-Z-B, and PAD all need to shut the fuck up. You are all way too outspoken for your political parties. Whenever someone has a legitimate point about an issue, one of you have to shit on their thread and point out how EXTREME or RADICAL they are. Take a look at yourselves. You are the most left-wing and right-wing people I have ever seen. You mold everything that anyone says to fit your stupid political propaganda. All three of you (and there are more, I just can't think of them) are like little ADHD kids, kicking and screaming for some goddam attention.

"Commie" this, and "Red Neck" that. "He's a terrorist", or "He's a radical." "You're a hippie", and "You're ruining this country."

It is a bunch of bullshit that you guys spew to make yourselves look smart, heroic, and important. You are corrupt and idiotic. Stop polluting the boards with your sensless crap.

This was originally posted in the moon landing thread, but I thought I should spread the word.

And just who the fuck are you that shows up unannounced, univited and why should we give a fuck what you say when you don't even post here?

You do have one thing in your name that does explain what you are..... tard.

As in you're a short bus riding, hockey helmet wearing, chronically masturbating..... wonder tard.

Am I the only one who knows who greetard is? He posts here a decent amount.

Though I was a bit suprised you called out e-z-b. I never had much of an opinion of him one way or the other, and, from what I can remember, he isn't someone you'd single out as insane.

I know greetard too. OTOH, the vs. forum is very cliqueish, and doesn't respond well to those whose first post within the confines of the vs forum is "STFU!"

PAD's been nothing but splendid to me outside of the vs forum, so there is a peculiar air of civility. In the vs forum, though, the gloves are off, and like a good Tennessee redneck lookin' for somethin' to cornhole, we don't take kindly to strangers around here.

Yes. Or something like that.

I wish every post of yours was like that. I enjoyed that immensely. Much more interesting than your normal stupid fucking post.

PS--

There was an article in the paper today about Muslims being polled in 6 countries (saudi arabia, jordan, lebanon and shit) and support has substantially lowered for osama and suicide bombings and terrorist tactics in general.

A good first step. I'll scan it tomorrow if the paper isn't thrown out.
A post from Quack that is longer than 2 sentences on the VS board???

:applause:
After reading this, I decided to look at the last twenty or so posts Scrub has made in the VS forum to see how verbose he normally is, since he seems to think that it matters.
He should buy and begin to wear a pink pimp suit with a big pimp hat and matching cane so that when he is proven innocent he can call all the dems bitches with the proper attire.
One sentence.
In the early day when LEGAL immigrants came here from all over the world they where happy to be here, to take up the American flag and proclaim their loyalty to this wonderful and free country. Although they kept their heritage alive they were now Americans and proud of it.

rs say. The WTC memorToday, though, America is full of ungrateful America Haters who would rather see our soldiers get slaughtered than for our country to prevail in freeing the middle east. They would rather demonize our own troops for selfish gain, appeasing our enemies, than band together for a just cause - no matter how good or bad it is being handled. The news waves are saturated with anti-american rhetoric and eveyrwhere you turn people who dare call themselves Americans do nothing but blame America for everything that happens. Thousands were murdered at the WTC, it was our fault the America haters say. Islamic murderous, terrorist scum want to wipe out all people's and religions not their own, its America's fault the haters say. People are starving in Africa, its Americas fault the hateial, where thousands died, wants to be turned into a hate America first center. Illegals are invading our country by the truckload, but America haters say let them come and freely break the law.

Why do these people who so utterly hate our country live in it? Why do they enjoy its freedoms and privelages only to defame it at every chance? What ever happened to loving your country and wanting to fight for it? Protect it? Uphold its honor and name?
Thirteen, with a couple of excusable fragments at the end. Very good syntax as well.
There is a difference between disagreeing with your country and demonizing it. Saying that we might have problems in Gitmo is one thing, but calling it a Nazi camp and our soldiers the gestapo is another like our "good american" Turban did.

See the difference??

This country is full of people who can't simply disagree and civily try to work together to make things right. They have to attack, demonize and run the name of our country into the ground.

What ever happened to keeping our problems in house? Instead America Haters have to take public stages and shout to the world how bad we are and how much better they are than us.
One. The semicolon is your friend; embrace him.
So this is a ridulous rant about how the daily show isn't as radically liberal as it should be?

If only you people realized that the daily show isn't supposed to be a liberal talk show. IT's supposed to be a comedy show that makes fun of the news. NOT POLITICS. Of course Stewart and his liberal agenda changed all that and now the radicals on this board kiss his ass and hail him as a saviour. Hence this dumb thread.
Four. Again, you got period-happy.
So you are telling me that NASA sent people to the moon way back when with crappy tech yet can't launch a friggin space shuttle cause the darn thing keeps falling apart??

No. And man, no matter how many threads I see this joke in, it's still funny...
1. They are allegations.
2. Considering how many wackos hate bush, cheney, haliburton this is probably a lie or an exageration

3. I find it funny how democrats are constantly demonizing our troops yet are quick to complain when they supposedly get spoiled food. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Haliburton is involved.

Four. Good on ya there.
:applause:

Stewart is clearly a liberal. I can remember when he had a radical liberal on his show and did not care that the guest reffered to conservatives as "neo cons" and even joined in the name calling himself. And whenever he has a conservative on he acts sarcastic and makes fun of everything they say. The best evidence of his political leanings is how radical liberals kiss his ass and worship him.

Steward killed the daily show. I used to like the daily show a lot until he turned it into a radical, political piece of shit.
It doesn't matter anyway. Whatever Bush does you people try to make it look bad. If he raises the terror alert you call bullshit. If he doesn't then you say he doesn't care about terrorism.

Not to mention Bush isn't to blame for journalists chasing down a terrorist. Don't tell me Bush is to blame for what reporters do now too.

One as well.

So, out of his last ninteen posts, seven exceeded two sentences, and four exceeded four sentences.

But, it doesn't matter to begin with. Someone's intelligence and comprehension have nothing to do with their verbosity. People who know that what they have to say is worth hearing understand that they should get to the point in as few words as possible, wasting as little of their reader's time as needed.

I apologize for this message. My friend was over, and I went for a SSS. This friend is very politically active, and he posted this while I was out of the room. I just found this post now. Again I apologize, as it was not me.

In actuality, I do not really care for politics to begin with. :)

1. What is the Democrat's strategy to stabilize Iraq and their plans for turning over security to Iraqi forces?

We didnt make the mess. So I guess we will ship a few thousand republikkkans over there and let you all figure it out.

2. What are their plans for homeland security?

We will stop waging war on countries who did nothing to us. We will stop supporting the murderous Israelis.

3. What are their plans for illegal immigration?

Put a tenth of the money we spent needlessly on Iraq into the borders.

4. What are their plans to grow the economy?

It will take care of itself after the destructive policies of the republican party are dismantled.

5. What are their plans to ensure retirement incomes and plans for those under 30?

That plans for those people arent secure is a republican lie.

6. Where do they plan to deal with ununiformed enemy combatants if not to hold them for questioning or detention?

We will give them this thing called a 'trial' where they will be proven 'innocent' or 'guilty' and then we will lock them up or let them go accordingly.

7. Why is a video game mod for an already M rated game worthy of the Senate's attention?

Because the radical christian right nutjobs are succeeding in taking this country back to the time when puritans were burning witches ?

8. Why do people who haven't won a national majority in either house in 11 years or won the White House the past two elections think they have a say in selecting a Supreme Court justice when a Republican controlled Senate approved a Democrat Presidents nomination of a former ACLU General Counsel for the Supreme Court 83-17?

Because we can. Just ask DUBYA he consulted HARRY REID before making his decision. HAHAHA.

9. What are their plans for energy growth and independence?

Break the buddy buddy relationship between the republicans and Saudis and focus on alternate energy resources that the republicans refuse to because they cant do without their oil company kickbacks.

10. Why do they think that a more important issue is Karl Rove than a bombing that killed 50+ civillians and wounded 700 more of our closest ally?

Because outting CIA agents for personal revenge will cause something much worse than what happened in London.
