Futurama (XB) IN STOCK ebgames.com 24.99 used
This thing is $$$ on half.com, too! Flip it for a quick sale?
I'm a collector, so definately not for me. I have NEVER seen this in ANY store, new OR used. I've seen 'em all.. Steel Batallion, Barbie's Horse Adventure, Baldur's Gate DA 2, Marvel vs. Capcom.. rare PS2 ones like Rez, Gitaroo Man, Firefighter FD 18, all the Karaoke Revolution games.. rare PS1 games like Intelligent Qube and Suikoden 2.. NEVER have I run across Futurama, so i'm hoping that the copy will be complete. I highly, highly doubt it, but for only $23 (AFF25 code ftw), I will take my chances.

I had no idea this was so rare! I bought a brand new copy of this during a CC clearance a few years ago. Haven't even put it in my XBOX yet.

The game isnt that good at all. Bad camera angles, touchy controls, same humor gets old quick, and well the recently released Family Guy is a good comparison about how bad this game is. It's rare because it sucks
would this game be good for a Futurama fan?
I've got Family Guy and Futurama, am a big fan of both shows, and haven't played either yet. Shows where my backlog is.

But the story was written by the show writers, and the reviews I read said the story was as good as an episode.

It's interesting. The game's a bit repetitive and I wish some levels would just end more quickly than they do. It's chock-full of Futurama puns voiced by the actual VA so if that's your game, get it. Though, the PS2 version is worth much more if the XBox is only about $30.

The PS2 edition fluctuates from $30 - $75 that I've seen for complete mint copies, with most prices cresting about $50 (but I havent checked recently.)

I'm a big Futurama fan, and the voice acting and look of the game are good, but the camera and gameplay in general were just dreadful. It literally made me angry with rage.

 that's not good.

hmm....so it has the story of Futurama and the gameplay of drake of the 99 dragons. Drake-urama? I love that guy!

anyway, that's quite the conundrum cause I'm a futurama fanboy. i'm not even afraid to make an awful joke/reference like I did in the previous sentence.

The game works very well for Futurama fans. As a game it is weak (scenarios range from fun to outright tedious), but there is a point where goodwill toward a license can overwhelm that weakness and be enjoyable. Futurama hit that point for me, indeed part of it being the authenticity of the voices as noted in most reviews.

One of favorite picks from that famous $5 CC sale back when, which is also probably part of the goodwill...

Its fun to pop in and play a level or two, listen to the jokes, and then put it back in its case before it makes you hate Futurama. The game itself is a dumb fetch-quest. I wouldnt spend money to play it.

Ive been looking for this game everywhere and have seen it NOWHERE. I finally caved and went the Ebay route and got a mint complete one for 30 and change. I never buy games without instructions or rental stickers on them so my pickings are slim. Im crazy anal. OOS already? Yikes.

Pay no attention to the two posters above me.

This game is rare for both the Xbox and the PS2. Ive been in dozens of game stores hundreds of times since this game came out, and I think Ive seen the Xbox version ONCE. Ive NEVER seen the ps2 version in a store.

The games story is said to be good because its written by the writers of the show. The gameplay is a little lacking tho. This game is really for two groups of people, collectors and Futurama fans. If your either one this game will satisfy you. If your neither, then why are you in this thread? =p

This is a must have for big time Futurama fans, and only them. The entire game would probably be equivalent to one episode. It starts off great, inside of Planet Express, but the gameplay goes south quickly. I haven't played it in a while, but I remember enjoying the story parts all of the way through. It's probably not worth getting unless you have the complete package.

Exactly. Ive searched through the inventory of every store that carries games including going into northen Ohio. NOTHING. Ive even had clerks chuckle at me when I ask if they have it.

I think this game will crown and complete my XBOX game collection. I think its finally complete.

I saw these all over the place about 2 years ago. Not to mention you used to be able to order them new from EB for $19.99 for several months (pretty much all of 2005). In terms of B&M, I know my local EB's had them as well as nearly every Feed Meyer. They started to dry up around the end of 2005, though, and now, in the last year, I'd say it has been pretty rare. The Playstation 2 version, on the other hand, is much more rare (not nearly on the level of MvsC2 for PS2 though). Way back when I first heard of this game in early 2005 I found one or two at CompUSA, but no one else had them. Forunately I got a mint used copy from Gamerush and then was able to sell my sealed one for $50 or so.

I own it. I loved it, it is full of new dialogue from the series and is pretty wacky. Kind of plays like crash bandicoot in parts (Bender's sequence), like a shooter in others (Fry's) and then like a brawler (for Leela). I thought it was awesome fun, but I am a fan. It's silly but I got mine for $9.99 at El Marto de Wal.

I've got a sealed copy from WAAAAAY back when CC had the first $5 clearance sale. I've been wanting to sell it for ages but I can't bring myself to do it until I find an used PS2 or Xbox copy.

Ah, the mother of all clearance sales . . . I bought one too, along with tons of other $5 games.

I dumped my MvC2 (xbox) for $60 on ebay (got it at the CC $5 sale) . . . I had no idea that prices on many of those games would actually go up.
I saw a used copy of Zone of Enders 2 at my local GameCrazy for around $12. Is it worth it?
Used at my store was $24.99 snag that sucker up for that price.... :hot:

For anyone paranoid about these not being complete from the EB site, four Gamestop stores in my area have this in-stock according to the store locator. I could go check out the condition & pick them up for someone if they're in good shape & complete. Since I could use my edge card in person and bring it down to $22.50, I'll pick one up & mail it for $25 shipped as long as you don't mind media mail. It'll cost you an extra couple bucks and take a little longer to arrive, but at least you know exactly what you're getting. PM me if interested.

Same here.

I'm just waiting for Futurama to start back up and hopefully the price will skyrocket.

It's a pretty great game, awesome art direction, beautiful graphics. Much better than the first one IMO.

I thought that too with my sealed MVC2 for ps2. I sold it for $300.00 on ebay 2 weeks ago. It paid for a good part of my Elite360..I still have the Japanese PS2 version as well as XBOX, Dreamcast... so it wasnt that bitter sweet.

Somebody wanted it bad, apparently.

Used at my store was $24.99 snag that sucker up for that price.

Same at my local store. Pick it up for that price! I saw Balders Gate II Ps2 yesterday too..used for 49.99!!

I picked up that game on clearance for a $1.47 a year or two ago. I had no idea it was worth anything, let alone big cash on half.com. It is still sealed and sitting in my stack of xbox games that I plan on getting to playing someday (probably 40+ still sealed and guessing 80-90 lying around). I have a helluva backlog on a lot of older (and newer) systems I plan to get to someday and this website hasn't helped any since I've been picking up even more great priced games. I love futurama and I don't think I could bring myself to sell it, but hell, I don't even think I can now bring myself to open the shrinkwrap to enjoy its awful goodness!

Good point, GS has an online store inventory search.

Holy shit, that's nuts. I remember Ebay was flooded with these after the $5 CC sale. Think sealed PS2 copies were selling for around $60 while the Xbox was at $50. I sold my sealed Xbox copy for $70 a few years ago after I found a nice used replacement for it.

Man, if I knew back then what I know now...
Why is this game so expensive? Didn't it come out a long time ago and get terrible reviews?
IIRC it came out at around the time family guy got revived and the futurama dvds were being released, so maybe they thought they'd capitalize on the cancelled-cartoon hype, but scaled back the release? either way, it's a terrible game... I couldn't play more than a few minutes without getting incredibly bored, and I'm a huge futurama fan.

I want it, because I am a huge Futurama fan. I have only seen it twice in stores, and both were beat all to hell used copies.

I always check the smaller movie stores, in hopes that they have a copy I can rent. Really don't want to pay such a high price for a game that almost certainly sucks.
either way, it's a terrible game... I couldn't play more than a few minutes without getting incredibly bored, and I'm a huge futurama fan.
Damn, that's a shame. I was hoping it would be at least kind of good. Futurama is awesome.
Damn, that's a shame. I was hoping it would be at least kind of good. Futurama is awesome.
No, it does, indeed, suck. It is particularly bad from a technical standpoint - horrible graphics, bad framerate (despite the plain graphics). Seriously, it looks like a bad PS1 game. The story is supposed to be good (like a "lost" episode of Futurama) but I couldn't get through more than a level or two before giving it up. Still, for the Futurama fan it is worth getting.

for everyone wondering why it's so rare, it's because it came out after the show was canceled, so it probably had a minuscule print run.

I might have to go the ebay route for one even if it does suck.

Yeah, I mean, even though it does suck, I've kept my mint PS2 copy because I'm a big fan of the show. I haven't checked eBay recently but I could probably get a lot for it. I sold the sealed one for about $50 a year ago. It sucks that EB/GS is jacking up the price, though, since this was a $19.99 MSRP game when it was still common. That's what they sold it for new on their web site for a long time.

I bought this for $20 when ebgames website still had good deals. It's ok at best. The first few levels are decent but after you play a level with each character you'll get tired of it. The Bender stages suck ass. I also had the Family Guy game as well and it's pretty much the same concept. Each character has their own levels with different gameplay for each character. Futurama slightly better than the Family Guy game but neither is worth $25 let alone $20.
