Well after months and months of searching for a copy of Phoenix Wright I finally found a copy at my local Game Stop. The sticker said new, so I brought it to the counter expecting the worse which is the gutted copy that I have in my hand, sure enough it's the one. I usually don't buy those but since Phoenix Wright is so difficult to find I went ahead and purchased it. I get home put the game in the DS and it appears that it is new, as there are no other save files, but upon examining the case better, there is a huge coffee or some sort of drink stain on the actual paper sleeve that has the game art work, and inside there are pieces of dirt, and the plasitc on the outside is scratched. Did I get ripped off paying a new price for a used game? Is there anyway to delete old saves in Phoenix Wright? I'm thinking of going back to the store tomorrow and see what they will do. This is why I hate shopping at Game Stop and EB.

First, congrats on finding a copy. Second, sorry you got ripped off. I, too, loathe GameStop and EB (although I did score a new copy of Treasure's AstroBoy for $15 from them back in December).

I continue to be amazed at how few copies of this game Capcom released to the market. Usually they ship tons of copies of their games, guaranteeing you'll be able to find one for $10 new down the road some place.

I don't think I'd part with it, it's just the principal of not knowing if you are actually getting what you paid for. Maybe they will see it my way and give it to me for the used price or something. Anyone else have any similar expericenes?

If it was any readily available game, I go back and complain. But Phoenix Wright is no easy game to come by... I'd hold on to it if I were you.

Call and ask when the store manager has a shift. Take the game and your receipt and demand to be charged the used rate for the game (maybe only 2 bucks less...who cares...its the principal)

If it has the stickers on the actual plastic of the case, you'll at least have proven you got the floor copy and that it was gutted, but if there are stains or other indication of use, you should not be paying for a new game. My 2 cents. Plus, you should try and strike a blow at gamestop any chance you get...their prices for buy back and used games are atrocious and they're becoming a rather heartless corporation out to milk you for all they can.

There is almost no chance of them giving you the used price, if the experience of members here is any indication.

Well, they gave me a 10% discount when I bought Chaos Field "new". It's worth a shot, especially if it shows obvious wear for a game bought a day ago. In the meantime, enjoy the hell out of it!

For some reason I'm so overjoyed I bought the game shortly after it was released. I mean this game is the next REZ or maybe even Panzer Dragoon Saga. Crosses fingers.

Hardly. Its release date in Europe is approaching.

Gamestop gave me a 10% discount on my gutted copy of phoenix wright. Didn't even ask me about it. I would have preferred a sealed copy but what the hell beggars can't be choosers

i hate my GS. i went to buy goldensun the lost age a while back hoping to get a new one. they had a new sealed copy for 19.99 but they REFUSED to sell it to me. because they had alot of used ones.
