I may be way off here, but i could have sworn there was a Gameboy/Color with all of the original Mario games on it. Is this true, and if so what is the title? If not, what is the closest to it? I would like to get them all for my GBA, but i thought i read that the classics weren't a good deal since you can get them all used on one cartridge for the gameboy. thoughts?

There's no official carts like that. Maybe it was a bootleg compilation or something. The only Mario compilation is Super Mario All-Stars for the SNES.

I bet I know what you are thinking of though. There was Super Mario Bros Deluxe for GBC that could possibly be cheaper than the Classic GBA release of Super Mario Bros. Both of those are just the original Super Mario Bros. though, they aren't compilations.

Edit: looks like I didn't make my edit quick enough and you already figured out you were thinking of Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. :)

i have that, cool. i don't know why i thought such a thing existed. it might be that there is a mario 1 for the gameboy that is the same thing as the classic out now, just cheaper since it is for the GBC. yeah, that sounds right. anyways, thanks for the response.

The closest thing is Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for the GBC, which has the original Super Mario Bros. game, plus The Lost Levels when you beat the first.
