Gameboy/Gameboy Color liquidation?

There have been signs at all of my local Gamstops lately that are saying they will no longer accept trade-ins of the Gameboy and Gameboy Color type as well as all of their games starting on April 15th.

Now what I've heard is that Gamestop is going to be liquidating all Gameboy and Gameboy Color systems and games that they have in stock starting at the beginning of April. At a 75% discount.

I'm terribly excited if this is the case and can't wait for April 1st to roll around, but it seems too good to be true. I was wondering if anyone could help prove or debunk this because I really have no clue aside from rumors I've heard.

Really hoping they don't field destroy all of these games.

Thanks for the possible heads up.

They probably won't field destroy any of the games until at least a year after they go 75% off.

For what it's worth, the GB and GBC games at one of the stores I go to disappeared almost completely a few weeks ago. I'm talking it went from 40 games to about 2 in an extremely short time span.

May not mean anything, but I figured I'd throw it out there.
